Pretty fair analysis of guys being open and Josh taking the higher risk throw. He gives multiple examples from this year and breaks down the routes.

I don't want to see Josh take check-downs or play "efficient." Unleash the beast!

This guy does an excellent job detailing JA’s weaknesses. JA may not be as good as we think he is. I guess all we can do is see if he improves on those weaknesses in the rest of the games this year.

 

Edit to add: Getting a kick at all of the posters who basically are saying that Josh is the second coming of Tom Brady, and he can do no wrong. I’m not totally surprised though, as has been noted before, there are tons of homer Bills fans with red & blue binders on.

 

The bottom line is that the tape doesn’t lie, but stats often do lie because there’s more to the story. Anybody who thinks that he hasn’t regressed since 2021 is just in denial, or maybe blind.

At this point I'm not changing Josh.  Let him be who he is.  Yes there will be reckless moments and turnovers.  But the entire JA17 experience is not something you should tame. He's averaging 40+ tds and a top 3 MVP candidate every year.  Get a better HC and get a defense that can stay healthy for 10 minutes.

Everyone is overcomplicating things.  This team has better talent than most teams in the league, and one of the best QB's.

Maybe the difference was back then he had Beasley as the underneath outlet that he felt very comfortable with.  Kincaid may be sliding into that role, but not quite there yet.

 

Think to there's something either Allen feels this need to look for Diggs too often or Dorsey is designing the plays in such a way that it forces him to look  for Diggs way to often.

For every spectacular play that Josh has made in his career, there was a safer throw that he "should" have made.

what do you expect when you don’t have a running game and any other play markers besides diggs? You better not try to take Allen’s play making ability away from him or This ids going to be a boring team with no shot at winning. Not the way the roster is constructed and how bad the coaches are!

I agree with the guy on the video. Josh's accuracy on the long ball has been off this year.  Even pre injury.  He's got Diggs or Shakir or Gabe on an open bomb and over air mails him by 5 yards.  Reminds me of 2018 Josh. He can throw it a country mile. We're just not sure where its gonna come down.

 

Maybe he spent too much time in the off season making commercials, playing celebrity golf tournaments, and chasing girls and not enough time practicing his passing.

Or maybe it’s because everyone blames him for everything and all they talk about is the picks he throws and now it has got in his head and he’s afraid to throw a pick so he air Mails it. 

 

maholmes has thrown 8 picks this year. everyone thinks he is the best qb in the nfl. Josh has thrown 9.

every coach wants Tom Brady/Joe Burrow. They always make the safe throw. Josh Allen is built different. If these coaches won't use his strengths, it's time to find new coaches.

Honestly, Allen threw for 35 touchdowns last year with: Diggs, Davis, Isaiah McKenzie, Dawson Knox and the ghosts of Cole Beasley and John Brown.

 

That is freaking amazing. 

This year he’s 2nd in TD passes halfway through the season, and has added another 6 on the ground.

When I think of josh playing efficient, I think it the Rams game last year. Took high percentage throws and what the defense was giving him mixed in with some big plays. I feel like josh now is just looking for big plays and they haven’t come.
