Comebackkid Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Running slower, thinking slower, I heard his car insurance rep even down graded him. Where will it 🔚🙄 1 2 Quote
msw2112 Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 (edited) I don't think he's slowing down per se, but, as others have pointed out, he's moving a bit slower for 2 reasons: 1) He's trying to keep his eyes downfield to look for a potential throw 2) He's gauging where the defenders are so that he can time a slide or run out of bounds, to avoid a big hit. In the past, he would just go full steam ahead and try to run over whoever or whatever might be in the way. I'm OK with both of these, even if it slows him down a bit. That said, if he sees an opening, he should take it. He's a fantastic runner and it's part of his game. He just needs to avoid the big hits. Yes, he can deliver them and yes, he's tough and can take a lot of them, but he needs to keep himself as healthy as he can. If that means getting 18 yards instead of 20, so be it. I'd, of course, make an exception where the game is on the line. If it's 4th down in the 4th quarter of a close game, he has to do whatever it takes to get past the sticks. It's all about situational awareness. Edited November 7, 2023 by msw2112 1 Quote

Casey D Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 He's 27. His biological clock, and the Bills window of opportunity are-- stomp stomp stomp-- ticking. 😁 5 minutes ago, DuckyBoys said: Clearly he's washed up at 26 1 Quote
nedboy7 Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Cognitively he is definitely slower. And its hard to quantify how much is coaching and how much is his own brain. Quote
Dunkirk Donski Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I think that Wgr caller was right…Time to draft a new qb. Quote

ChrisWatson#21 Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 It's called getting older. Even Lamar Jackson is not as quick as he was in his first couple of seasons. 2 1 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 My theory on Josh: He is number 17 Stevie Nicks sang a song called 'Edge of 17' Josh Allen is 'on the edge' Stevie Nicks was in a band called Fleetwood Mac Josh Allen used to be Fleet of foot but now is slower, as though he has wooden legs (hence FleetWOOD) Josh Allen is overweight = too many Big Macs (FleetWOOD MAC) The Albatross is a symbol of bad luck for seafarers Fleetwood Mac had a hit titled Albatross Josh Allen is experiencing bad luck Conclusion: Stevie Nicks looks a lot like the woman who played Princess Leia 1 Quote
Cray51 Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 He is avoiding unnecessary contact. I still think his shoulder is hurt MORE than he is letting on. I also think the offense is designed to try to limit him on the ground, by giving him checkdowns or keeping the RB in to pass protect more. Regardless, we know in the past he has been successful with his legs. I'm sure we will see it come to life in games when needed 1 Quote
QCity Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I mean, he's not going to get faster as he gets older. 1 Quote

Back in his rookie or second year some of his runs were clocked in the 20 mph range and he was making d-backs and LBs look silly running by them. Seems like now when he finally does run he has trouble beating defensive line. Anyone else notice this? His thought process appears to be. Not sure about his speed on the field Quote

When he runs this season he is noticeably slower than in past seasons. No doubt about it,. He lumbers when he runs now. He has gained a few lbs for sure in order to take hits. But you are 100% correct. He runs slower for sure. 1 1 Quote
