Sean wanted to play ball control and shorten the game too.   I thought Cinci did a decent job of that, they could’ve stretched the field more but were content with short and med passes and running.

Mods if this belongs in another thread, please feel free to merge it. I didn’t know where this exactly fits in.

“Other styles of offense” = huddle up and run shotgun draw and kill a few drives

Does anybody have the clip? What was the question? We’re all raging about tweets that are designed to make you rage.

Here you go.  It's near the end.  Question is from Jay Skurski I believe.

The reality is nobody knows. Is it McD dictating to Dorsey to protect his defense or is it Dorsey being incompetent. Either way it falls on the HC.

If you listened to all the interviews it was clear he had no answers for Dorsey, and then he clearly got the answers and that is what people are reacting to in the tweets.  You have to listen to all the interviews and its pretty clear.  Especially if you listen to Dorseys too.

Just more confirmation that he is a dummy who cannot articulate an intelligent response to anything. Slogans, catchphrases, blaming others and claps are his go to moves. He is ***** clueless and often looks that way on the sideline.   He needs to be fired. I wanted him gone after he blamed others and offered no explanations for the 13 secs. debacle. He is not a good leader and is not smart enough.

He wasn’t talking to his players, he was talking to self obsessed journalists and dipshiet fans.

I don't think you realize what kind of an impact his comments will have on the team... really bonehead.

And how many times has this answer been given to McDermott throughout the season?  Because this movie has been played way too many times throughout the season. Either way it is inexcusable on both their parts regardless.

If people want to be upset for allowing Dorsey this much input, not firing him, or what not, that is fair game.  But this quote...this is Dorseys reasoning, not McD's.  And personally it SHOULD be the reason Dorsey gets fired this week...but he likely won't unfortunately.

So let me get this straight.  We score with ease the opening drive and then slow down the tempo and style to experiment with schemes.  This might explain why the offense at beginning of games are moving the ball, only to become stagnant for 2 1/2 quarters with three and outs. Then in the fourth quarter we go uptempo because we r behind and then by magic start moving the ball again and start scoring. Got it.  Genius.  And silly me thought you continue to use what works for you until the opposing team has adapted. If not you continue to exploit those weaknesses. SMH. No wonder this offense looks so bipolar.  Must be tough as a player to find any sort of rhythm sometimes.

It's the McD way.....fix something that is NOT broken (up tempo successful first drive) with something that is not working (slow it down, complimentary mumbo jumbo) because he is smarter than anybody else.

So many have it wrong in this thread...you guys realize that McD is giving you DORSEY's answer to why they didn't run the uptempo right?

All this anger at McD over the answer is totally misguided.  Now if you want to be mad at McD for not yet firing Dorsey, then that is fair game.  But this answer everyone is so upset about is the answer Dorsey gave McD after they met and reviewed the game.

FIRE DORSEY

McD is quoted “I’m doing everything that I can as a head coach to make sure that things are the way that I want them and expect them to be across all three phases"

Sorry, but McD has his role in this offensive catastrophe too.  The reason Daboll and McD hate each other is because McD tried to meddle with him and Daboll wouldn't listen.  Not saying Daboll is the greatest but he sure ran a hell of a lot more high powered offense than this crap.

It’s at 5:36. The question was what did they discover after reviewing the game. McDermott’s answer was clearly a bit of a non-answer but it was relaying Dorsey’s explanation.

The way this is answered indicates that McDermott is the one who is dictating the general direction of the Bills’ offense.

So no, you’ve got it totally wrong. McD wants to run HIS offense.

Funny you say this because I have felt the same way throughout his tenure, only to remain silent as to not infuriate the message board

WTF!! WTF!! WTF!!! This guy should have zero say in the offense. Dorsey sucks too. Damn a good year is going into the Sh*t can way too quickly. We better learn from this and step it up for the stretch run.

Who hired Dorsey, kept him, and keeps allowing that input? It's amazing what some of you guys do to skirt the responsibility from the guy who is responsible. You literally start out with that and then want him to be let off the hook for it.

McD is the problem.
