zow2 Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Makes me laugh that people actually thought James Cook would be the bell cow RB for this club. He's pretty much a change of pace slippery RB and screen check down player. Quote

Ask the posters who are dead set against drafting a RB early. Unfortunately, Beane has let the best RBs go by in the draft because he has the same philosophy. Meanwhile the top teams in the league have a running game that makes them multidimensional while all Josh has is Diggs, no RB he can count on & bunch of #3 or #4 WRs trying to fill the #2 WR spots. brianthomas Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 its funny. We draft Cook, add new old guys in Latavius Murray & Damien Harris, after previously trying this with Matt Breida & Nyheim Hines, & now its Fournette who's the next to join the party. And thats after spending 3rd rd picks in 2019 & 2020 on Singletary & Moss who are no longer on the team. And we're not gonna use any of them! Serious question but what are we looking for where none of these guys are the answer? Can one deduce from this that its not the RB thats the issue but perhaps the scheme or play designs or oline instead? How many rb's do we need to go thru before we realize its not the rb thats the issue? Whats the point of acquiring Fournette or any of these guys if we dont intend on using them? These retread rb moves are approaching Carolina Panthers level of absurdity. If we were winning it wouldnt be such an issue but in light of our reality it doesnt seem like our management has any clue on what to do. 1 Quote
ngbills Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Offseason failure year after year. We try random rb's,. random wr's, random OL. So many on this board always want to buy the hype - our RB is the best ever, nevermind Cook has never been an every down back at any level, Murray, Fourette and whoever are just retreads that could be sitting on a couch if not on the Bills. Our WR's are the same, Harty had a year 5 years ago almost as good as McK average year and its a huge upgrade? Sherfield is an upgrade? Our rookie TE catches a 2 yard dump off 5x a game and its elite and unstoppable? Maybe the coaches actually buy this nonsense too and then we spend our resources on a ton of defensive players. Quote

Everyone hates Collinswoth, but he absolutely nailed it when he said if you mix in the run and pass, and spread it around when you do pass, the offense will work. Bills did this in the late second half, and it did work. Team opened the game with like 13 passes and 3 runs, 2 straight runs after the INT. Quote
Nuncha Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 (edited) I agree 100% but the even bigger question is why do we have a FULLBACK on our roster??? Reggie "2.3 million a year to do nothing" Gilliam. 4 hours ago, zow2 said: Makes me laugh that people actually thought James Cook would be the bell cow RB for this club. Nobody can run behind this o-line. They seriously suck at run blocking 98.5% of the time. It looks like they have no idea what to do when a run play is called. 1 Quote

BBFL Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Tanner Hudson, Drew Sample and Irv Smith Jr. all had pretty decent games and had a significant chunk of their stats for the 8 games this year against us. Need to get everyone involved instead of the usual suspects. Got to try something else sometimes which is why they carry so many. Quote

Gunsgoodtime Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Zack Moss is currently 2nd in the NFL in rushing. Maybe it isn't our RBs that are the problem, its the coaches using them 1 Quote
