A lot of the media talking heads prop up the obvious guys because yes you’re right WIlliams is a unicorn. He’s not Lamar Jackson but he’s definitely a more accurate and stronger armed version of Fields. I hope he’s willing to take coaching because he could be special if somehow the giants got him and Daboll cleaned up his rough edges like he did for Josh.

Maye was my favorite prospect going into this year. But man this year he’s been making some dumb decisions too. It reminds me of Justin Herbert’s last year at Oregon. Herberts junior year he was unbelievable but then Maye and Herbert’s final year in college left you wondering what’s going on with all these bad decisions. I think Maye and Penix throw the prettiest balls in this class. So much accuracy on the deep balls, just great placement where the ball is just so easy for the receiver to catch.

Penix inside the pocket is the best QB in this class. You give him an Eagles O line and let him sit and scan the field and he will tear the NFL apart but he’s inconsistent with pressure. He’s not scared to take a hit but when he scrambles it’s not always pretty. I was very encouraged tonight though.

Nix is a gamer. Dude lives to put the team on his back and is electric making throws on the run. Is he as athletic as Williams or does he throw a deep ball as pretty as Maye or as accurate in the pocket as Penix…no. But man he just gets the job done and even though he’s not elite in every category, he has the least amount of flaws in his game and wow has he grown into a great prospect since his sporadic play early on at Auburn. I really like Nix. He’s a lesser version of Joe Burrow to me.

realistic and good spots for each QB:

Williams - Daboll and NYG (he did it with Josh he can do it with Williams)

Maye - GB and Matt Lafleur (He’d thrive in GB with that culture and fan base behind him with a good Offensive HC)

Penix - Vikings and O’Connell (Really good O line, great weapons and creative HC. It’s like UW of the Midwest lol)

Nix - Raiders and Jim Harbaugh (hate to do it to my boy but if anyone is going tough it up and knock the chiefs around I see Jim Harbaugh and Nix being special together…I’d rather see him go to the NFC but this is the next best choice. Screw the chiefs lol)

Wow, Penix in Minnesota would be scary.  You like Nix more than I do. This is his fifth year as a CFB starter…I think his ceiling is low.

To Be fair this is also penix's 6th year of cfb

2 ACL tears and a labrum injury

Did not know that about Penix…I see why you think he won’t go top 5.

Yea , that's a big reason

BUT..  it's not like he's 30... He seems to have fully recovered from his ACL injuries and his shoulder looks fine ... He had a serious separation of the throwing shoulder

But he's a big strong kid and going from Indiana to Washington was the correct move... He has certainly earned the first round selection wherever it is

And I wish somebody like him nothing but success

And yes I would take him over bo nix

I wouldn't take Bo Nix round 1.

It is still Williams, Maye, Penix for me.

Quinn Ewers would probably be my 4th guy but if I were him I'd stay in college.

JJ McCarthy is the one I need to dig into more. Seen him twice this year and once thought he was legit and once thought he was a product of a very talented roster around him. Need to find time to really sit down and focus on his game.

I know we’re not supposed to talk CFB here but it’s Saturday night before a huge Bills game and this is a preview of guys who are going to be huge players in the draft in a few months.

Unreal game, with both guys delivering as promised, and more.  Penix throws a beautiful ball and seems to me to be the better overall prospect, but Willams’s running ability is going to translate really well at the next level.  Will be great to see both of them play in the league next year…

Correct. Kids playing school ball isn’t what this site is about. 90% of these kids will never be heard from again.

It’s really just an early NFL draft discussion…These guys we’re talking about will definitely be heard from again.

I’ve been good with evaluating QBs in the past. Nix needed the extra time in college football. Kid is going to be a successful NFL QB and I bet a good amount of NFL GMs will feel the same way and take him first round. Barring an injury I’d put money on him being taken top 20

Well I’m watching him in person next Saturday (against Williams) and I’ll report back😃

Caleb plays so wreckless. All the talent in the world but him and #19 cost the Trojans a W tonight. Williams needs a good offensive minded HC to get the most out of him or else he’s going to be a mess in the NFL. Can’t live on pure talent and make bone headed decisions like running into the pass rush over and over. Penix really impressed me. I knew he was super accurate in the pocket and throws a beautiful ball but against Oregon he was garbage scrambling out and couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn BUT wow did he show up on a couple throws outside the pocket tonight, especially the TD to the TE. Penix will be a top 10 pick in this draft and I also think the headiness and grittiness of Bo Nix gets him taken top 15 too. He’s a plug and play QB right now and honestly think he could be the best pro. I love this draft class and even though Williams will be the #1 pick and has all the potential in the world I love the 3 QBs behind him more (Maye, Penix and Nix)…hope they all go to the NFC. We don’t need any more franchise QBs in the AFC

You watched that game yesterday and think Williams is THE reason they lost? It’s not the defense that allowed a guy to rush for 260 yards at 10 yards a carry? It’s the guy who led his team on 6 TD instead of 8 that cost them the win

I would take anyone of them if they fell to me in the first round.  I am not sure I would send a huge package of assets to move up to get any of them.

I haven't really crunched into the tape on any of them but based just on watching the games I think I'd be inclined to trade up for Caleb (subject to me being happy with his character which is the stuff only the teams who speak to him can ever know). But the reality is he will go #1 and I suspect whoever "earns" that pick will keep it.

My instinct is the same as yours on the other two.

Character concerns for Caleb for me makes me a bit iffy on him. All the talent in the world, one of the best I’ve scouted the past 5 years but his demeanour and how he acts , behaves and says makes me pause and wonder if he is a franchise guy.

The Trojans would be undefeated if they had any kind of defense at all. They’ve scored over 30 points in every game this season except one, where they scored 20 against Notre Dame. I cannot believe someone hasn’t fired that nitwit they claim is coaching the defense. Unbelievable

Haha, what are his character concerns? I also notice a pattern of certain qbs have character fibers, while others are just “competitive.”

If you think the qb who scored 42 is the reason, they lose, I suggest not sniffing so much glue.

every game, he constantly produces major points. In his worse game against Utah, he left the field with the lead and the defense let their 4th string qb drive down the field to win the game.

can Williams be a little douchey? Sure. But I would take him over all but like 7/8 nfl qbs right now. Only question if the crappy team that picks him because they are such failures they got the number 1 pick in the first place, ruin him.

He is. Seems also pretty entitled . I know that the talk of wanting to be part owner of the team that drafts him would rub front offices the wrong way.

There is a vibe from an outsiders pov that seems a bit off . I of course don’t have all the answers it’s merely a vibe and ? for me .

Talented kid though

Not sure why someone eyeroll reacted to this post of yours.

Caleb Williams is all over the place.  Painting F*** UTAH on his fingernails, crying in the stands.

He could be the next Mahomes though.. just needs to improve on playing in structure.
