LABILLBACKER Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 This is one opponent I'd definitely go on offense immediately and get points on the board. Our last 2 games they scored immediately and it dictated momentum. If we had a healthy Milano, Von, Jones & White I'd defer and try to double dip. 6 Quote
buffblue Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 With our tendency of starting off slowly on defense I would take the ball if given the opportunity. The game is going to come down to the Bills scoring plenty of points anyway, so might as well try to get into an early rhythm and take the lead. 4 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Cover 1 guys had an interesting take on this. Cincy is built to be a front runner and get out ahead. If we get out to like a 10-point lead, they could be in trouble. 2 Quote
dakrider Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Its great to see the Bills as the underdog, they do poorly as big favorites. Bills defense need to keep Mixon in check, most the games he does well they do well. Quote
Shortchaz Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 I’m not sure what actual impact it has but the crowd noise to start the game is probably a factor. I would think putting your offense/their defense out to start the game gives them some advantage. Of course if you can drive right down the field, regardless, that would be great. not sure it matters. 1 Quote
SinceThe70s Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Pretty sure the Bills usually defer and I've read that the Bengals like to receive. If so, given the choice I wouldn't receive just to keep the Bengals from getting what they want - go out and make a stop on the first possession Quote
MJS Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Why is everyone worried about this? 3 minutes ago, SinceThe70s said: Pretty sure the Bills usually defer and I've read that the Bengals like to receive. Chaos Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 The team that kicks off in the second half has a slightly better chance to have the ball last in the game. I want to kick off the second half to get this slightly better chance. 2 Quote
GunnerBill Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 We almost never win the toss so I suspect it is moot. 1 Quote

GunnerBill Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Just now, Shortchaz said: I’m guessing we got a 50% chance this game. Yea. We have a 50% chance every week. But we have definitely won fewer than 50% over the past two years. I'll put my money on losing the toss in this roulette game. Quote
Special K Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 If the Bills D was at full strength, I would always defer regardless of the opponent. With the D after the injuries, I would seriously consider taking the ball first against teams with good offenses. 1 Quote
Nephilim17 Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Defer always. But the Bills should "differ" from their last performance and plan vs. Cincy. 2 1 Quote
Virgil Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Always defer. Any momentum you hope to get early can easily be nullified by the two possession swing at half. It’s a 60 minute game, not first score wins 2 1 1 Quote
