GerstAusGosheim Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 My 8yo son is a huge Bills / NFL fan, and recently has been obsessed with the cornerback position. For Christmas (never too early to start a list lol), he wants a custom jersey of the "best Bills cornerback of all time." Who you got? Quote
DapperCam Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 I think Tre White is the only Bills CB to be a first team All Pro. Byrd had impressive accolades as well, but most people would probably think it was a Jarius Byrd jersey (who was also a great DB for the Bills before his injuries). Quote
Andrew Son Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 My favorite was Winfield. That dude was a physical missile 9 2 1 1 Quote
Saxum Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Winfield could not only defend but intercept and tackle. The tackling part you cannot seem to teach anymore with NFLPA rules. 3 Quote
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 (edited) Clements was a great player - great ball skills. Winfield didn't have the ball skills but he tackled like a bull. McGee had a long bills career. Only one of the ones listed ever got DPOY votes, and has the most pro bowls - and thats tre white. Looks like his bills career might be getting cut a bit short due to injuries unfortunately. The rest were mostly before my time. Edited October 31, 2023 by Bleeding Bills Blue Quote
Rc2catch Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 I don’t know about best but I enjoyed clements the most. 1 1 Quote
The Jokeman Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 I never saw him play but Butch Byrd seemed to be a do everything CB. In terms of my time watching, I think Nate Clements was the most complete. 1 minute ago, Limeaid said: Winfield could not only defend but intercept and tackle. nucci Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Robert James. Was fortunate to watch him play live 7 2 Quote

dave mcbride Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 (edited) Surprised Mario Clark isn't on the list. He was their top corner on a couple of great defenses (1980 and 1981) and had 25 INTs for the Bills between 1976 and 1981. But Butch Byrd is the obvious choice here, although James was very good too (but a short career). Edited October 31, 2023 by dave mcbride 1 1 Quote

But both really good CBs to be sure. Quote
Sestak4ever Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Robert James was amazing, unfortunately shortened career due to injury. Based on a full career none come close to Butch Byrd. He had 40 career interceptions, was a tremendous punt returner, and basically won one of our AFL championships against the Chargers by returning a punt for a touchdown and intercepting John Hadl to seal the victory. I know that was a long time ago, but he was the best! 7 2 2 2 Quote
John from Riverside Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 The best tackler was Winfield by far 1 Quote
MarkyMannn Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Booker was lonely so he got my vote. A lot of good players on that list. Quote
