Bears needed this...that defense is embarrassing.  Will they try to recover that second round pick (and more) by dealing Johnson?

How does wash make this trade ? 2nd isn’t enough

Chicago going to likely want a 2nd for Johnson to recoup their loss of their own 2nd in the trade for Montez Sweat?

Sweat in a UFA at the end of the year...honestly surprised they even got that for a guy the team is gonna need to sign to a huge extension and that could have simply waited to do it in free agency.

This is why bad teams stay bad, making dumb moves like this.

Got absolutely no production from Claypool who they gave up a 2nd for last year and dumped him for nothing basically.

Now trade another 2nd which will likely be a top 40 pick in the draft for a guy who is going to be a UFA.  WTF are they doing??

Who had “Bears most aggressive trade deadline buyer” on their bingo card?

just a dumb trade IMO for them...trade a top 40 pick for a guy who they are going to need to give big money to in free agency since he is a UFA at the end of the year? Why not just sign him in free agency then for free?

I don't necessarily disagree, but Sweat is in theory good enough to merit a franchise tag. He's a very good player at a premium position.

Redskins are already paying Chase Young huge money, and have huge dollars invested in their 2 DT's.  There is no way they are tagging Sweat on top of that or giving him a giant contract. They would have been eating half the cap on their D-Line almost.

In the spirit of Halloween, more of the sordid TTUN story unfolds!!!

"Central Michigan is investigating photos that show a man resembling Michigan Wolverines staff member Connor Stalions on its sideline for the Sept. 1 opener at Michigan State.

Athletic director Amy Folan, in a statement to ESPN, said the school became aware of the photos late Monday. The man resembling Stalions is dressed in Central Michigan-issued gear and standing alongside several of the team's coaches, while wearing a bench credential.

The credential reads "VB" and appears to be designated for the visiting bench area, which is different than a general sideline pass. It gives access to the designated area between the 20 yard lines, which is reserved for players, coaches, trainers and equipment staff. Schools are given a finite amount of passes for each game."

Why this? Why here?

Sweat is good but not great and his rookie deal is over.  Plus Washington has a ton of DL talent…

Exactly. The bears are about 10 players away, they are awful, why give up a second for a guy about to be a FA? Washington makes out like bandits here, getting a late first basically for a guy they might have gotten a 3rd round comp for. Well played

Yeah it makes no sense to me what the Bears are doing here.

If the price was a 4th or 5th maybe, but a 2nd? Which is going to be #32-#35, not sure that how it helps the current team.

Commanders might be looking to deal Young now also it seems like and get out from under 2 potentially huge contracts

I'm talking about the Bears tagging him, not Washington.
