Yes, criticizing Trump is reasonable because he is the frontrunner for the GQP Presidency and Trump and Putin aims to undermine democracy here and around the globe.

Reality is, US policy towards Russia doesn't fundamentally change no matter the President so Putin could care less who's in the WH.  But keeping the illusion of some relationship is essential progressive folklore.
