Lol I mean it’s not just stats I’ve seen them getting gashed in the trenches every week.  I shelled out for the good ol Sunday ticket 😂 49ers without Trent brown/Deebo and Aaron banks going down midgame were a lot easier to manhandle than they would’ve been normally.

 

If we were in a similar situation and had to play cincy without diggs and a few starting offensive linemen I would absolutely agree with the sentiment here that we’d get utterly humiliated.  Right now I think cincy being a 1.5-3.5 point favorite sounds about right

I believe we are still at 52.  If they wanted to bring Fournette up, they can always move Ty Johnson back to PS.  So they have lots of flexibility if they want to bring in another player.

Haha it was a jokey way to say I watched the bengals play a lot this year 😂 yeesh.  You said stats don’t matter, I countered with I’ve been watching the games I’m not just looking at a stat sheet. Then I added SF got whooped in the trenches on the offensive side of the ball because they were down two huge pieces on the oline.  All super relevant info to your earlier retort about how the bengals are more physical on both sides of the ball.  

I literally replied directly to your ‘narrative’ and refuted it with factual information…you just don’t agree which is fine

Agree that he was a top-3 off-ball LB in the NFL this season (possibly THE top), but I think a healthy DaQuan Jones was actually more important to the entire unit's success. Jones' play had such cascading downstream impacts on the entire D, including "keeping the LBs clean" as they say.

Disagree. The Bengals have been notoriously slow starters and had Burrow on one leg to start the year. KC has a propensity to play down to competition in the regular season. Both those teams have a track record of exactly what we have seen then boom.
 

As much as people want to justify our play with this notion we are not in that boat. We have been a good regular season team and we have been a completely dominant DVOA defense over the last several years. Our defense has performed at the bottom of the league since Jacksonville. No question the worst run since the McDermott playoff era started. Just that alone is enough to say it’s different this time. We can’t just “figure it out” if our defense is bottom 20. Hasn’t worked out very well for them as a top 5 unit on bigger stages. It will be up to the offense to be 2021 dominant if we want to make a run this year. That or some drastic changes with a unit that is out critical starters. Worse than even last year.

I really hope Fournette is up to speed for this Bengals game. He's going to be the difference in the way the Bengals play defense. Wanna see if Bengals cheat their safeties up on the line of scrimmage

I was in downtown the year they played the Rams. Fans were funny, seemed to take the game as well as one could. Handled the Hamlin thing with class. I want to not like them but…..

All to say, NFL is week to week.  We are just as talented and have a QB that can also take over games.  Last week we played a great game, albeit scoreboard didn't show it.

I think you are addressing the wrong issues here. Most of the info you provided is pretty useless.

 

I think it's imperative to look at the Bills vs Bengals match up. When i do that objectively I don't like the Bills chances.

If you lived here you’d feel differently. Let me put it this way. I have lived here for 17 years and raised my kids here. But because I didn’t go to high school here I am held at arms length and treated as an outsider. And the Hamlin thing? That was “southern hospitality” bless your heart BS. They didn’t mean it.

I like downtown as far as cleaner midwest cities. Met my girl there. But ya, I had no idea what it’s like to be there more permanently. My condolences.

In fairness to that, they did sort of get shafted. My comments were about the reaction in the moment. Humanity is often lost in such situations.
