The headline is actually "How Ken Dorsey Got Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills Offense on Track & Defensive Standouts".

Trust you to totally change change the emphasis to your own obsession.

He certainly did like what Allen did, no question. And for good reason. But he complimented the whole team, in depth.

He asks how the Bills found the rhythm and gets into what Dorsey did and what changes they made that was what Marino started with. Mentions more tempo, more 11 personnel making it more into a space game, at least against this opponent. Mentioned going back to a lot of their core concepts.

I don't think he even mentioned Allen through the first 6:30, and that was just one sentence. Allen wasn't mentioned again in the first ten minutes. Second mention was around 10:10, and it was again just a sentence.

The headline here was the changes the Bills made to make the offense go better.

"He just got back to basics:  tempo, spread, 11 personnel, mesh, tackle wraps, RPOs, play action, and that allowed Josh Allen to play really good football." After that sentence, at 11:02, he gets into how well Allen played.

Joe will be honest with you. If Josh has a good game, he’ll let you know. If he sucked, he’ll let you know. Some here could follow his example.

Yet, we nearly lost on a hail Mary.  This team still has a long way to go.  Hopefully they have turned the corner and are gathering steam for remainder of season.

Cincy game and outcome will be very telling for where this team is at.

Yup.

And why 11 and spread worked well against a Bowles defense that plays more man defense and it was a good plan with the Bills short on TEs.

Did not hurt that most of our offense is very familiar with the alignment and plays.

The mesh and rub concepts work better against man-heavy defenses like Bowles who likes to send the extra rusher than some of the zone-heavy defenses we have seen.

I am going to be curious to see how McD changes up his defense of bunch formations near the goal line.

Against NE, Henry wiped out our defenders that had inside-out matching rules. Should have been an OPI, but an easy rub either way to pull off to free up that wheel behind them to the boundary.

The variations of 2-read or palms I have seen I don't think would work very well near the goal line as their rules generally require defenders to maintain some depth.

I should just bite the bullet and sign up for the All-22 because I love that stuff.

Sounds like marino’s concerned about being let back in the press room after last week’s broadside.

Nah, just calling it like he sees it.

Yesterday's podcast asked if this year is shaping up to be Josh Allen's best season, yet.

His answer was yes, so far.

Whatever you say Thurm.  Yesterday's headline specifically asked if this season is JA's best season, yet.

The question is asked right there in the headline.  And his answer so far is yes.

Trust you to be totally abscessed with me, though :flirt:

Lots of praise to go around to players and Dorsey alike, but...

watch the first 10 minutes or so and you'll get the idea.

Josh bein Josh.... which of course is to say Josh being one of the very best players in the NFL.

Dis he say why we didn't score for something like the last 25 minutes of the game?

1) First failed drive Diggs failed to separate and/or win at the catch point on two consecutive passes past the sticks. We went to our best guy and he didn't make a play.

2) Bizarre end of quarter sequence where we needlessly tried to draw the Bucs Offside on 2nd and 1, ended up in 3rd and long and then on 4th and 4 we punted.

3) Threw a 7 yard completion on 3rd and 9, punted on 4th and 2. In a tight game we almost certainly would have gone for it but in this one we were playing the clock and field position.

4) We got one 1st down and then ran 3 times to run the clock down.

Not really any worrying trends on those drives IMO. Diggs didn't make a play when given two chances and we know he isn't a problem. A flukey attempt to draw them Offside bit us in the ass. And then we got conservative and played the clock.

The one concern coming out of this game is that we have no deep game anymore with this personnel, so we have to execute at a really high level on each drive and there's very little margin for error when you're playing that style of offense.
