Best Williams Available Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Yes Brown said on WGR this AM he was benched in this and Giants game for Dodson. Quote
RyanC883 Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 tackling apparently from what I've read? McD should have kept him in, now he has to find a fall guy for the defensive collapse at the end of the game. 2 1 Quote
Freddie's Dead Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 (edited) Dorian Williams is officially in McDummy's doghouse. Edited October 23, 2023 by Freddie's Dead 3 2 Quote

JerseyBills Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I thought he got injured. Dodson looked like crap Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Could he have been any worse ? He needs reps not benched for a guy with no upside 3 3 Quote

Buffalo_Stampede Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I’m not sure what McDermott sees in Dodson? He’s one of the worst LBs the Bills have had. 2 Quote
SCBills Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Really awful decision by McDermott. You've got to let him take his lumps. Especially when the guy behind him is so limited. And what did the Pats do when Dodson came in?... immediately attacked his limitations. While we're at it. Jackson is showing me nothing as to why we couldn't have seen what we have in Elam before the trade deadline. I know Elam was awful against the Jags, but he was serviceable against the Giants. On a defense increasingly devoid of talent, the "safe" options are much tougher to hide. 5 1 Quote
stlbills13 Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I didn't think Williams was very good yesterday. But he wasn't bad enough that you turn to Dodson. I really only turn to Dodson if the only other option is my 5'9, 160 lb self 1 1 Quote
boyst Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 watchign williams he can't tackle but more importantly it seems that he goes freelance and does his own thing - kiko alonso style. i don't think he's maintaining his responsibilities, performing his assignments, and then getting pushed around. i'm amazed that an undersized LB who many thought did not play powerful or big enough is being handled this way. 1 1 1 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I figured they brought Dodson in since he is supposed to be a bit more stout against the run. But Dodson was no better. Probably worse. More great coaching. 1 Quote

He’d bench RBs for fumbling just so an inferior guy can come in and do nothing to teach the first a lesson. But a guy like Knox who breaks these rules of fundamentals is trotted out there time and again to hurt this team. Same with OL. He’s defective at putting the team in winning situations. 2 1 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Yes he was benched. PFF (if you're into that sort of thing) for Williams yesterday was a 30. So, justified. However, Dodson was picked on in the pass game and isn't a good player in general, so of the two I would have rather seen Williams make mistakes and learn than a vet and just take snaps. 1 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 (edited) I almost feel like they even tried Dodson at the Mike and Bernard at the Will. Honestly if LB is this much of a problem make a trade. Edited October 23, 2023 by Buffalo_Stampede 1 1 Quote
