JJGauna Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I know it’s pretty rough finding a silver lining after the last 3 games but the truth is we are still only one game back in the East. Any team can be beaten any week, and that includes us. This team still has hope, we have the pieces. Hopefully the younger guys on defense can mature as the season progresses. If we get hot at the right time later in the season, we can take the division back from Miami in Miami, and make a run into the playoffs. Will it happen? Who knows? Nobody knows. That’s why they play the games. It takes a remarkable run and overcoming great adversity to win it all, why not us? The pieces are still there, just not the original pieces we all thought. Josh must step up, Dorsey must change and adapt, and McD needs to focus on his ability to bring the best out of the defense. I still believe. 10 2 2 3 1 Quote
SCBills Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 (edited) If we get our act together and Miami struggles with NE next week, I’ll entertain the division again. As of right now, I don’t see them losing to the Jags, Jets and Pats of the world. Edited October 23, 2023 by SCBills 1 3 Quote
Dr.Sack Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I like where we are at. A wounded team with a chip on their shoulders. Let the doubters doubt. The Bills should use all the shade that’s coming their way as fuel. Play angry, violent and with aggressiveness. 2 1 1 3 5 Quote

Boatdrinks Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 It’s really on the coaches to get it right. They’ve got enough pieces to make it work. We’ll see if they can be innovative or if they’re stubborn. Allen is the meal ticket. 1 2 Quote
Billsfanatic8989 Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 (edited) We still have Eagles, Cowboys, Jets, KC, Miami, and Bengals upcoming. Philadelphia & KC are two of the toughest places to win at. Cincinnati, despite their issues, aren't inferior to us. If we win the division, we will have earned it. BTW, why do we keep playing @KC? Three years in a row. They have not played in Buffalo since 2020. Edited October 23, 2023 by Billsfanatic8989 1 Quote
Success Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 We tried the "hot team the 1st few months" thing last year. I liked when we were the hot team late in the season. Like you said, who knows? This might be how we are this year, and it could be 1 step forward, 2 back all season. But why not believe we can get hot? 1 2 Quote
HappyDays Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 (edited) Mac Jones leading a 2 minute drill TD is the only thing standing in the way of us being #1 in the division right now. If the Pats offense was simply held to their season high before today we would be #1 in the division. I still can't get over it. Edited October 23, 2023 by HappyDays 6 2 1 Quote
Riverboat Ritchie Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I like the idea of playing with a chip on your shoulder but this team just doesn’t seem like they have the chemistry or mentality to do that like they did in 21. Something is off and players just don’t seem to respond much to McClappy. You watch other teams, whether it’s the Chiefs, Jags or eagles, and they seem to feed off of coach and generally want to do well for him. The Bills just seem indifferent about Mc D. Quote
Punch Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 The current circumstances are certainly less than ideal but it isn't dire. The season isn't over, it's going to take more work than last year to win the East and that will help them in the long run. 1 Quote
Ga boy Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Yes, I believe they have the pieces, but we’ll have to score 30 plus each week. Instead of ball control, the game plan is to get the ball into the hands of Kincaid and Cook early and often. We need to see Josh’s cannon again. A screen now and then would slow down the rush. 2 1 Quote

But if we do pull it together and beat those teams - we will be hot at the right time and should have the attitude that there's no one in the league that can beat us. We shall see... 1 1 Quote
bouds Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Like I don't even care. Bills are not playing well, until that changes it's hard to care if they back into the division lead for a bit. Still time left in the year, but if they're not clicking on O it won't matter in getting to where they want to get to which is a SB. 1 Quote

This team has a tendency to beat great teams and play down to the competition. Maybe it will be a blessing in disguise. No excuses. 1 3 Quote

Heck maybe Jones or Milano come back in January. At this point we are in a for a wild ride. This is what makes it a week by week league. Don’t be scared. Strap up! 3 1 Quote

buffblue Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 The Jets are as likely to win the East as Buffalo right now. If the Bills pull it off, it will require winning week 18 in Miami. Possible, but not optimistic. We are facing a long slog of an uphill battle and the odds of even a playoff appearance aren't great at the moment Quote

Franco_92 Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Yeah. The Bengals weren't looking too hot at this point last year (3-4) and they wiped the floor with us in the playoffs, they were a completely different team. Whether or not we need big changes, they aren't going to come right now, so just hope that these guys can get back to doing things they've done before. Things felt shitter when we were 7-6 in 2021 and it took just 5 weeks to be on the moon 1 2 Quote
