You don’t see the Chiefs stopping Mahomes from running.

My opinion is that is the issue.  It has  changed the way we play and the way defenses play us.  
 

The improvising is gone.  Keeping defenses off kilter is gone.

Our offense was better with RPOs and designed QB runs. Daboll’s problem was that he was over reliant on running Josh when the offense got stagnant. Dorsey completely eliminated it along with the jet sweeps, pop passes etc.

You're missing my point.  Allen is a turnover machine.  The team is not good enough to overcome it.   That's a major reason why he's not running

Allen and Mahomes didn't ever really run the same, I would love if they got Allen to run only at the times that Mahomes typically does. Allen could probably run a bit more than him but pulling back on that isn't the worst.

 

Right now they've got Allen not really running at all, if he could find the balance of only running when the reward is clear and better than any risk he could take throwing, it'd be so good.

He turns it over more throwing it w interceptions than running.  
 

They stopped running Allen to prevent future injury to him.  Not so much his turning it over imo.

That is completely inaccurate Allen has the same amount ints as Mahomes this year

Mahomes only runs on scrambles though. It's not like he gets designed runs. His offensive line is just so good that he has 5 seconds to throw the ball or he can run through a wide open hole. 

 

Josh still scrambles, but he usually has to break two tackles before the line of scrimmage. 

 

But I do agree they need to find a better balance for designed runs that's somewhere between making Josh our best RB and nothing.
