These were the weapons the Bills and media and fans were excited about, players that would likely help the Bills to take the next steps this year and return to legitimate Super Bowl contenders again this year:

Trent Sherfield:  5 receptions, 39 yards, 0 TDs

Deonte Harty:   12 receptions, 103 yards, 1 TD

Dalton Kincaid:  17 receptions, 118 yards, 0TDs, 6.8 Yards a carry

Damien Harris: 116 yards on 24 attempts, 1 TD and O pass reception

Latavius Murray:  128 yards in 31 attempts, 2 TDs and 6 receptions for 40 yards

How about the young players who should be hitting their stride this year?:

Dawson Knox: 14 receptions, 92 yards, 6.6 ypc, and  1 TD

Kalil Shakir, 4 receptions, 40 yards, 1 TD

James Cook as a receiver, 14 receptions, 140 yards

Add in the new offensive guards, Torrence and McGovern, much improved over last year's, creating a much better offensive line, facilitating getting the ball to their offensive weapons.  I had confidence, that if Dorsey woke up and improved, this would be an excellent offense, capable of consistently beating high caliber teams.

The buck stops with Dorsey, the offensive coordinator who gets the offense ready to play each week, creates the plays, calls the plays, and likely had a hand in choosing these  players. How much salary does this add up to this year?

Like his formations,  diversity in both run and pass plays, and play calling, his use of personnel shows an extremely one dimensional, lazy approach to offense, lacking diversity in all aspects of offense.  He is undermining this offense in dramatic ways. Josh Allen is too often forced into untenable positions, where he has to put it all on his shoulders. With an average quarterback this offense would be one of the worst in the league under Dorsey.

Unless Dorsey changes his approach very soon, this year's Bills team will just be an after thought, like they became last year.  All of this talent, and maybe the best quarterback to ever play the game, will add up to nothing because of this incompetence.  IF it is allowed to continue.

What’s the yards for cook on the ground

363, with most of the big runs coming later in games, after the Bills have a lead.  He is not a starting caliber running back, does not have the size to be that.

He can be an excellent weapon--if the Bills use him correctly.  How many times have they thrown the ball to him on the outside, in space, giving him an opportunity to use his speed?  How many screen plays?

When you have lots of weapons the yards get spread around. Don’t the totals for the team matter much more?

I think for today’s NFL he absolutely is a starter. He can run, he can catch the ball, he has shown to be an adequate blocker. Should he be getting all of the Carrie’s on 3rd or 4th and 1 of course not, but that’s why the Bills have larger back up running backs (and Josh in those situations)

Too often the poor runs by Cook early int the game, those humorously poor and now predictable shots up the middle, add up to nothing, putting the Bills into much less manageable 2nd and 3rd downs. It immediately sets the tone for the game, making it difficult for the Bills to get into a rhythm.

Murray and Harris need to be used much more on early downs too, especially early in the game.

It is one of the many obvious things that need to be done by Dorsey that has not been done.

They aren't that great.

And Best QB Ever? Hyperbole much?

Remember when the Bills used a 1st round draft pick on a TE and tried to justify it by saying he was a slot receiver like a "big Cole Beasley? That was funny 🤣

McGovern and Dawkins and brown were all garbage last game which is a lot of the reason why they couldn’t ‘facilitate getting the ball to their weapons’.  Dawkins has been far below average two games in a row now.  It’s really not much of a mystery to me why we’ve struggled haha I think people really want to pin it on whatever they want to pin it on though 😂

we have followed the ‘pass blocking good we’re good, pass blocking bad we’re bad unless josh is able to pull some magic out of his a**’ pattern for years now idk why this is suddenly new for people

I keep saying that Cook should be used in a James White type of role, but posters think that I'm wanting Cook to fail😳

While I don't buy into all the OP's assumptions, I have to agree that DC's have our number and Dorsey seems flummoxed to figure out a new attack. Let's see what the Pats dark lord dials up today and how Dorsey responds.

Maybe Dorsey should lean more on their strengths and RUN THE BALL a little more. Brown, coming out of college was known to be a mauler with a nasty streak.

But Josh Allen scolded all of us for questioning Dorsey

He'd probably do the same for Dawson Knox

I have an idea! Why don’t we scramble up all the words and use them in a different order to start a NEW Dorsey thread!

I’m not thrilled with the ups and downs either, but if we put up 70 today can we take a week off from the repetitive bashing threads?

I’m not as down as the offense as others but I def agree with this take.  The execution just has not been good enough on a consistent basis on pass plays and it rotates between missed reads, dropped balls, bad pass blocking where I’d just let those guys go out and run block a lot more

Silly boy...😁

As for the OP's original thought, how many drops for each of the receivers listed above?

Silly, indeed.

It may be an elevated level of frustration because the nursing home just called and my 95 year old mother has LOST her dentures. How on earth does that happen? She doesn’t GO anywhere!  It is a bad start to my Sunday.

Soup for lunch and dinner.  Pudding for desert.  Did the home figure you have a spare set?

I just genuinely don’t get this from watching any of the all22 and it’s gotten to the point where I feel like I’m taking crazy pills 😂. Maybe it’s me though but idk….I’m trying to be unbiased but maybe there’s some super deep rooted subliminal ‘I want the team to be good’ haha

the giants did an excellent job disguising coverages without busting any of them but there were plenty of counters to what they were doing drawn up on just about every pass play.  There weren’t many plays where Dorsey had no answers
