Brett Favre was mostly a bust with Atlanta and went to Green Bay,won Super Bowl(s) and became a HOF'er and 2x MVP, 11x Pro-Bowler and 3x All-Pro.

Brett Favre was a 2nd round rookie who barely played behind a veteran starter who made the Pro Bowl that year & then was traded for a 1st round pick a year later.  That does not fit the definition of mostly a bust.  If so why was a team willing to trade a 1st rounder for a 2nd round pick from the year before?

A bust would be Brian Brohm, a 2nd round pick waived after preseason his 2nd season & not claimed after going on waivers & allowed to go on the team's practice squad, or Christian Hackenberg who in 2 seasons was never allowed to play a down & was sent away after those 2 years & failed everywhere he went including spring minor league football.

He was never going to play in Atlanta because his coach, Jerry Glanville, quite literally hated him, so he looked for any and every reason not to...if he stayed in Atlanta his career may have faded into oblivion.

1) He wasn't going to stay there when other teams were interest, hence GB giving up a #1 for him.  2) Glanville only lasted 3 years in Atlanta. If he had stayed at worst he would have been the starter in 1994 & at best management would have told Glanville to play Favre after Miller got injured in both 1992 & 1993.  If Glanville refused he might have been fired as early as 1992.
