ExiledInIllinois Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Oh... I forgot this one too: Want me to walk down memory lane of all the horrible no-calls that totally ***** -ed the Bills throughout their history. I know you really, really don't want me to do that... Now do you! 😆 Collinsworth is full of *****! Obviously, grabbing laundry is NOT automatic holding or DPI. He's a Bills hater. 1 1 Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Bluntly: if you don't watch in real time and look at the slow motion then yes it is DPI. But this group of refs was going "let 'em play" when the Giants receivers were lunging to trip up the Bills players well before the ball got there. 1 Quote
NoHuddleKelly12 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 We’re fans. That pass entitles us to agree with calls that go our way and sharpen pitchforks when they do not. I invoke my privilege to congratulate the refs on finally not throwing out a hankie for this play at least. Quote
RangerDave Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 I'm not a rules expert by an means, but can't a DB contact a receiver within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage? Does it change when it is first and goal to go? 1 Quote
zow2 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 The refs gave it the 'ol "we called a penalty on the previous play and gave you (Giants) one untimed down from the one, we are not calling another one" 1 Quote
Dablitzkrieg Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 That's why you wear white gloves. 2 Quote
Roundybout Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 It was more PI than the one that gave them the extra untimed down haha 1 Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 It 100% was and I say... tough $#!! Lol. It's past time we get a zebra to not rule in our favor. Especially after the crap show ref wise in London. 1 Quote

Because these weren't in 2021 when Bills lost to to Bucs down in Tampa in 2021 and had to play on the road in KC during the playoffs that year: That was far more egregious and wasn't called. 1 hour ago, RangerDave said: I'm not a rules expert by an means, but can't a DB contact a receiver within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage? JohnBonhamRocks Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 I could see it being called either way as there was clearly a lot of grabbing but as some point out it was from both sides. My guess is the players’ size mismatch did Waller no favors in the ref’s head. Quote

Sure looks like the Bills caught a huge break. What does everyone think? I'm sure you cheered when the refs ate the flag in the first quarter on the DPI or two. Don't worry, your Dolphins won. 1 Quote
Matt_In_NH Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Yes it was PI, I have not heard anyone really disagree except the rules guy in the booth. Quote

BillsFan130 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 It was PI. Although I don’t think the Bernard penalty was PI so it evens out Quote

Nor should you. I like the no call personally. I would have preferred the no call in last years SB. Years ago, the refs would intentionally eat the whistle and let the guys play. Only obvious and outrageous penalties would be called in these types of situations. Today's mondern day football is way too soft and the refs make way too many game changing calls. Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 It was, but they just called a far more ticky-tack DPI call to give the Giants an extra try to win from the 1yd line. The fact they didnt run Barkley there is on the Giants. Lots of calls were missed in this game. And far too many were made. These refs were on screen all night. Quote
BearNorth Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Seems that a DB who is beaten who trips the receiver with his foot is never going to be called based on last night. "Incidental contact" Quote
Not at the table Karlos Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 (edited) There was DPI on the last two plays. But oh well. They missed some against us and we've lost games the same way. "Just give it to them" Edited October 16, 2023 by Not at the table Karlos Quote
