IF that's truly reality, then sorry, but it's time for a head coach than can do that given the ridiculous underachievement/inconsistency on the offensive side. Monday through Saturday, McD can certainly get in the OC's face and tell him what to do. But during the game, especially as the defense's play caller, that's pretty much impossible. It's an argument for why McD shouldn't call play for the Defense, but I think most would agree that the defense looks a lot better this year with him calling the plays than when Frazier was here. And with all the injuries on defense, McD will have to devote a lot of brain cells to shoring up that unit. Especially if we are at the stage of "Help us, Obi-Wan Josh Norman, you're our only hope" Dorsey is going to have to fix this on his own, unfortunately. Quote

Miami backup I mentioned was referring to Thompson. The defense did a good job Vs MIA in that game. Offense gave them ridiculously short fields with turnovers and MIA mostly kicked FGs. Quote
ngbills Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 (edited) May not seem like a lot but Allen has 20 rush attempts in 5 games. The prior two seasons he had 35 through 5. On pace for about half the number of yards as the past few years as well. Edited October 9, 2023 by ngbills Quote

Like a pulling tackle that can swing with Superman on the designed roll out and WR2 that D is forced to let go free or lost in the play design. This. You get your franchise guy and then everything and I mean EVERY SINGLE THING is built around them. Coaching, weapons, etc. You don’t give them a defensive head coach and an offensive coordinator who is lazy and uncreative. You don’t give him only 1 nfl caliber weapon and a #2 that’s unreliable and only knows one route in the tree. It’s complete malpractice and it’s all being wasted. Quote

We've allowed more points in our first five games than we did last season as well as more yards, LOTS more yards. 65 YPG, over 100 YPG prior to this week. That'd be fine if we had played good offensive teams, but the teams we've beaten up on currently rank after five weeks 17th, 24th, and 31st in Yardage offense. No better in scoring. 5 minutes ago, Boatdrinks said: Miami backup I mentioned was referring to Thompson. The defense did a good job Vs MIA in that game. He still played better against our top-ranked D in weather conditions in a home playoff game very favorable to us in his first playoff game ever and in his third start, than he did in his other starts, once against a 28th ranked D.
