That’s about what I expected on an 8 year deal, and with the cap set to significantly rise soon, this deal will look better and better as time goes on. Im just glad they locked him in for max term (8yrs). There were a lot of rumors about 4 or 5 year deals at an AAV of $10.5M (ish). Now that would have been an unfavorable deal for the Sabres. I would have felt like Dahlin was trying to do what Auston Matthews did to Toronto and squeeze every penny he could out of the team, taking short term, high AAV deals.
