$16m is a lot to pay for a player that won’t play the whole year and may not be anywhere close to the same player when we’re up against the cap.

But what are you going to do about it? I think the only viable option may be to suffer thru it. Both in terms of cap and talent. I’m sure I’ve missed a lot of cap implication talk. Please feel free to enlighten me. This sucks for Tre, the team and the fans, but it’s a fact of life in the NFL. Ask Jets fans.

What if White chooses the Rodgers bridge repair option? Is it possible he could be back for AFC Championship game or Super Bowl?

Interesting thought but who knows. For a boundary corner tearing his Achilles I don’t think there’s any way he could come back this year at all though

Again it depends if its a full tear.

Didn’t Von have a partial ACL tear? I’m not an expert, but I think it has to be FIXED completely. Tre acted like Aaron Rodgers, he “knew”, but he was more outwardly emotional.

This is it for Tre in a Bills uniform.

With this injury and his contract he will be cut this offseason. So sad.

You want that real bad, don't you?

Different tendon and place... different stresses and healing pattern... knees are weird and take a long time to get flexibility back v. achilles.

Exactly. But in fairness I think  Rodgers  ayahuasca‘d away his ability to have emotions.

You people are so classy talking about cutting this guy who has balled out since the moment he was here.  An hour after he is devastatingly heartbroken you’re talking about cap hits?  Someth8ng is wrong with you.

Can I say something…I don’t think tre was elite this year fully “back” from his injury. I like Elam and I’m ready to see that, but national media is painting this as a “huge” loss, and I don’t necessarily agree. It’s a loss, no doubt. But I don’t think it’s a crazy loss. As sad as it is.

It’s hard to separate game from reality. Sometimes it’s a way to cope. These players are human. It’s hard line to draw. We saw it last year in Cincinnati where humans took over and said we can’t play.

There’s no right way to go about this. No one wants to see anyone hurt.

It sucks, and you definitely are valid for feeling that way. And don't get me wrong, I hope for nothing but a full recovery and a lengthy rest of his career for Tre White.

Having said that, any player will tell you "It's a business" and then go sign with a rival team. So if the people that play feel that way I also don't see anything wrong with fans who may view it as a business as well and want to discuss the business and finances of the impact of an unfortunate injury such as this as well.

I'd rather talk about what happened after it happened, whole team came around him, whole team hurt when they saw him go down and react like that. Josh brings him up quickly hoping for the best when he talks about the defense in his post game interview on the field. They've been playing some of the best complimentary team football yet under McDermott and you can see how close they are.

I think he still has/displayed that his instincts were elite.  Unfortunately, I don't think he ever regained his quickness/lateral speed.

Totally sucks for Tre.  But agree he wasn't back to gis pre acl "all pro" caliber.  He is also our best corner though, and definitely much much better than Dane IMO.

Elam has the natural talent, it will be his time to step up when given the chance.
