GunnerBill Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 (edited) Rapp better be dialled in. At least he is a more natural replacement for Poyer. I do think it is a chance to bring Elam up. Have Lewis as your backup safety. Edited September 29, 2023 by GunnerBill 3 3 1 2 Quote

RoyBatty is alive Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 He has looked markedly slower lately, against the incredible speed of the Dolphins may be a good time to rest him. 5 20 2 2 Quote
Coldfronts Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Not the worst news. They're going to be needing young, fast legs at the safety position 3 1 5 1 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Oh s**t. Well that's my excuse ready for Monday if we get beat down 4 Quote
Franco_92 Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 It's not good or anything but I have a feeling Poyer would have had a rough day anyway. 7 Quote
stevestojan Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Well, at least it’s a position that doesn’t expose us to their biggest threat… 1 7 Quote

If he was 4 yrs younger then we put him as a 3rd safety to push the box and tackle the runner downhill, clear the short, and follow the ball. He's getting washed, clearly. But still glad we have him. 1 Quote

Logic Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 This is bad news. This is one week where you reallllly want to have your top safeties in place. Anyone thinking "it's not too big a deal" or "maybe it's a good thing because he's old now", well...I think you're dead wrong. We only lost one of three games to the Dolphins last year. It happened to be the one where we were missing one of our starting safeties. Let's hope Taylor Rapp is up to the challenge. Opportunity is, um...rapping at his chamber door? Sorry. I'll see myself out. 3 3 8 1 1 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 He’s been actually very bad this season. Maybe his knees are the reason. He might have been the worst starting player on defense this year. Hamlin’s opportunity. 1 3 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Honestly this might be a good thing. He looks slow out there. This is a good excuse to see if Rapp can be the full time starter. If they do decide to play a 3 deep safety shell it will be interesting to see who they choose to play back there. 1 1 Quote
ExWNYer Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Time to Rapp them in the mouth... 1 2 Quote

stevestojan Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Guess we find out if keeping Hamlin was a PR move or he is the next best option. I’m still not ready to forgive Cam Lewis for the Minnesota game. 1 6 1 Quote
The Jokeman Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Time to see if Rapp can be his successor. Quote
