Firs thing I note is that the referee went to college at UB! We also have a very educated, professional crew this week. Not sure what the latter means.

Stupid factoid: I went to the same college (for a year) as our Side Judge.

Good interview with Adrian Hill, a NASA engineer:

Brett Bergman is the 4th member of his family to be an NFL official, grandfather [Jerry], Dad [Jeff] was a 30 year official and Uncle Jerry Jr. have all been NFL officials.

I'm a bit concerned about the "Unknowns."

Applicant: "Can I get a part time job as a Line Judge?"

NFL: "Where did you go to college and what is your current occupation?"

Applicant: "Umm, ......I'll get back to you on that."

NFL: "You'll do fine. Here's your plane ticket. Meet up with the crew in Buffalo."

We haven’t used that logo in several years.  Bucknell might still be using it.

But the back judge was there when it was still in use

Actually the Line Judge is the son and grandson of 30 year NFL officials and his uncle works as an NFL Official as well.  The family sideline business it would seem.  From what I can determine he was on the golf team at Villanova and works in tech, and has reffed in the Big Ten.

When are we going to get an official who is the McDonalds fry cook who dropped out of HS?

Never as officials are a part time gig and am sure working at McDonalds means you gotta work weekends.
