I've seen it written that Miami could have beaten the NFL points scored record with a FG.  What am I missing?  The Bears defeated the Redskins 73-0 in the 1940 NFL championship game.   A Miami FG would have tied the record, not beaten it.

The Redskins were the last team to score 70+ points, tallying 72 in a game in 1966.  They went on to finish with a mediocre 7-7 record.   It was a great game by the Fins.  But it doesn't mean they're going to cruise to the AFCE crown.

The Broncos are just really really really bad. They made Washington and Vegas look like real football teams. No doubt Miami is good, but they will finally be playing a complete team next Sunday.

Is scoring 70+ classless? We pull josh often. I know Denver seemed like they gave up or forgot how to play, but still Miami, figure out ways to run the clock out? Idk

I actually think they were mostly trying to run. It seemed like the broncos were giving him like huge runs in the second half.

I just can't wrap my brain around how a team can allow so many points. Have some pride. Then that brings me to Miami. Are they really that good to impose their will like that. Idk I'm buying the hype atm. I'll be alright after I sleep on it.

they yanked Tua too with 14 min left. They also were running the ball a lot. Denver was inept in all phases.

You mean they yanked him when they had like 56 points!  That really makes no difference. But yeah if Denver is going to suck so bad, what can ya do I guess.

I hope Miami chokes on the smell

of their own fart.

A fart caused by us squishing them.

It makes you wonder about Sean Payton's standing with the players.

Russell Wilson is everyone's whipping boy but the way Payton has chosen to publicly emasculate him might not have been received well by the team. Also in his short time in Denver Payton has negatively implicated anyone who was on the team last year.

I think Miami is for real as far as being a top contender. That doesn't mean that we aren't better, we will have to wait and see I guess

Yeah, I think they are really really good offensively assuming they can keep Tua upright.

70 is over the top but Denver def quit at halftime.  Miami was roasting bad teams early in the year last year too then they struggled against the playoff caliber teams.

You’ve gotta be able to stop the occasional run from a light box or Miami is tough to stop.  Their shtick gets a little less effective in the red zone when tyreek can’t take the top off the defense but they ran all over Denver in the red zone today.

craziest part of this game was it was 21-10 late in the second with Denver getting great field possession after they stopped Miami on 4th down on their own 35

Amazing stats from this game with 726 yards of total offense too which is 2nd of all time as the most jaw dropping.  I guess Waddle was holding them back?

Denver has seemingly already quit on Sean Payton.  Reminder that there were some here calling for McDermott to be fired and replaced by Payton.

Or maybe Payton is going after Caleb Williams?

Nah.

They are by no means a good football team, but they're also not some  historically bad team in line with their historically bad performance today. Up until today I thought they looked marginally better than they did last season. Wilson was definitely playing better, but still nowhere near good enough for what they need out of him.
