I don’t think this league is going to make it either. For a minor league spring football league to possibly work all 32 NFL teams need to own a team in there own NFL market in there own stadium so the NFL is paying themselves. WLAF was a disaster because it wasn’t in all 32 NFL markets and all over the place in Europe with high cost to run. If the NFL doesn’t back a minor outdoor football league the league has zero chance. With all the new NFL stadiums curtain off the upper deck and try that. Selling tickets to fans that can’t afford the NFL prices. But without the NFL directly involved it won’t work. The reason why arena/indoor football leagues survive is because they pay $500 and a $1,000 a game with smaller rosters players playing two ways. These outdoor minor leagues spend to much money to survive my money is on the indoor leagues because the costs is more realistic. If you can spend $100 for a season ticket for Arena League or $250 for USFL season ticket there is not that much of a difference the players aren’t in the NFL so give me $100 for Arena League it’s cheaper in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

I hope they use more XFL rules.

I've been saying they need to get rid of all the juicing rules and any rules against things like cybernetic limbs. Just let the guys in this league go nuts.

They'd make a killing.

They should try partnering with the nfl to market themselves as a farm league for the nfl.  Maybe even as a trial league for rule changes before they are applied to nfl games.  Make the refs full time between the leagues to work on improving the quality of officiating too.

In 1.5 seasons they will go out of business because there is no draw for advertisers because there aren’t enough eyes watching, just like every other iteration of this failed football league.

The NFL has a totally free farm league called college football…, and forget about the Refs, that is never going to change.

They've already made it longer than that. The USFL just finished their 2nd season. This partnership only makes them stronger. It was the obvious move, instead of having two leagues compete for the same talent pool and viewers.

It shouldn't be free and players should get paid. The NCAA has tried to change that with the new rules, but hasn't done enough. Instead of going to college to get a meaningless degree, players should go straight into a football "job," get paid full time, and ideally be tought about financial responsibility. That would be the best for these young men.

Most college players don't make it to the NFL. I hope that more and more of these guys choose to forego a college team and choose to be developed on an actual pro-style team.

Despite not being an official farm league for the NFL, this could still lead to promising young players making the jump.

The NFL won't do that because they don't the CTE liability for another league. The NFL is quite fine with an arm's length relationship.

Why? Go outside. Get a Haircut, change your oil, Cut your nails, wash your dog... plenty of other way more productive things to do... Can you tell me WHY you watch it? Im genuniely curious...

I'm allergic to foliage, I only get a haircut once every 2-3 months in the middle of the week when no games are on, the car dealer changes my oil once a year, I cut my nails in the morning out of the shower when no games are on, no dog, etc.

I watch it once in a while to see what may be future NFL players.  The Dallas Cowboys got their kicker from the USFL.

Years ago I went to a UFL game in Connecticut just to see what it's like.  It was fun.

Cowboys WR/KR Kavonte Turpin was the USFL player of the year in 2022.
