Radar Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 This whole reputation of fans craziness seems to be almost encouraged, jumping on tables, drunken behavior. I stopped even thinking about going to games ages ago and this fan behaviour a major reason. 1 Quote
zow2 Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 He went to a football game and died. It's so absurd. It makes me nauseous to think about this happening. When i was in my 20's i know a dude that got into a fight during a men's soccer game, they were playing. One punch and he broke the other guy's nose and jaw in several places. I think the injuries were pretty severe. And the puncher broke his own hand delivering the punch. So stupid and unnecessary. Quote

Certain places should not serve alcohol You would think it would be obvious, alcohol served to self important Kens and Karens on a sealed metal dumpster screaming through the sky, nuts. I’ve seen some really poor behavior at the regionals. Thank god for corporate jobs, loved the airline, disliked the customers. 1 Quote

Stop drinking at noon, order a chicken finger bucket, a water, and a cup of coffee. I will say i have had some rough experiences in the 300s, so i've been spending a bit more to sit a little closer. My wife (a pats fan) and her two sisters had beer dumped on their heads by the girl in the row behind them. I texted the hotline and they tossed the girl and she was NOT happy - but cmon now, be better. The young 20 somethings are the ones causing a lot of the ruckus i feel. Went to my first away game at arrowhead a year ago - nobody gave me a lick of trouble. They'd all joke that we were gonna get thrashed and embarrassed, but after that TJ pick they all sort of just shook my hand and left me alone. I took my wife and son to Arrowhead, all of us decked out in Bills gear, in 2021 when we beat them 38-20. Despite their frustration, the KC fans treated us well throughout the game. Fighting over fandom is dumb. Quote

Stroke 17 Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Of course after kickoff no one settles in and watches the game anymore either.half the game is spent with people walking back and forth up and down the aisle to go on beer runs, bathroom breaks and such. The in person experience has moved for watching a football game to a party with a game in the background. Make sure to take those selfies too, gotta get the perfect shot for your Facebook. 48 YEARS A SEASON TICKET HOLDER AND IF I EVER GIVE IT UP THIS WOULD BE THE REASON(S). FREAKIN SELFIES, PEE BREAKS DURING PLAYS, CHECKING PHONES FOR FANTASY PLAYERS, GAWKING IN THE AISLE LOOKING FOR YOUR FRIEN OR SEAT THAT ISN'T EVEN IN THE SECTION....... I AM THE OLDER THE GUY WHO JUST WANTS TO WATCH THE GAME, CHEER FOR MY TEAM, DRINK A FEW BEERS, EAT SOME SNACKS AND ENJOY THE GROUP AROUND ME, BUT IT IS GETTING TO BE MORE OF A STATUS THING, YOU KNOW ,TAKE A PIC TO SHOW THE WORLD WHERE YOU AND YOUR DRUNK FRIENDS ARE PARTYING TODAY. STAND IN THE AISLE DURING A PLAY, FORGET WHERE YOUR SEATS ARE AND STAND AROUND IN THE AISLE INSISTING THE OTHER PEOPLE ARE IN THE WRONG SEATS. MY NUMBER 1 PET PEEVE IS THOSE THAT CAN'T HOLD THEIR BEER LONGER THN5 MINUTES, INSTEAD OF COMING BACK TO YOUR MIDDLE OF THE ROW SEAT JUST WATCH THE GAME IN THE TUNNEL ON THE TV AND IF YOU CAN'T DO THAT AT LEAST GO PISS DURING A TV TIMEOUT, THEY EVEN SHOW ON THE SCOREBOARD HOW LONG THE TIMEOUT WILL LAST. I took them to there first bills game last year and we had to leave by half time because of all the drunken idiots swearing and talking ***** to each other through the whole half (nothing they haven't heard before but to have it go on and on non-stop even made me uncomfortable). Tend to agree with this for the most part. Probably won't take either son until they are 10 (my dad took me when I was 10-11). I will say on the flipside I have found the Sabres/Amerks experience to be slightly too nice in terms of fan atmosphere/production. I find they are almost afraid to do anything remotely edgy compared to when I went to games 90s through mid 2000s. Quote

Bob Chandler's Hands Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 In looking at the video as they were administering first aid a security guy was still having to restrain a guy in Fin's Hill jersey. I expect the police are tracking that guy down for questioning. Who tries to interfere with medics doing their job? Someone wearing a Tyreek Hill jersey, that's who. 2 2 Quote

NFL games are just an excuse to get completely hammered for 5-10 guys in every section of the lower bowl of every stadium every game . and they wreck it for everyone else in the section. they stand the entire game, hootin and hollerin trash and anyone under 6 feet tall can't watch the game and have to watch the idiocy for 3-4 hours. it just sucks. Personally, I don't care bc I'm 6'4", 225 and don't give a crap what anyone does, but just ruins it; I end up having to stand and then that's it for anyone behind me. And it they are fans of the other team, fuggedabadit Yea, it was much better 40-50 years ago when this definitely didn't happen way more than it happens now. Quote

I saw it during a softball game at Cobbs Hill in Rochester. Two guys got into it, and one punch later, one of them was dead. That's why I've never punched anyone since then, it really freaked me out. That was like 20 years ago. I know a few other non-fatal ways to de-escalate a situation. Thankfully I'm past that point in my life.....I think. Not to mention, I'm surrounded by the greatest Bills fans in my section that I could ever hope for. Never an issue. And I'm 4 rows behind Jim Kelly and family. Yeah, that's right, I'm that f'n special, lol. Yea, even a good shove can result in a fall and cracking one’s head on the cement. Just terrifying consequences for everyone involved and their families Just quietly disengage and walk away if it gets dicey Quote
boyst Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Amazes me idiots pull their phone out at the first sign of trouble. If you're with family/children: lead them out of danger and nothing stands in your way to do that - NOTHING (even police). If you're by yourself and a fit man then you need to gently distance yourself or help those who can't. Id you pull out your phone for something like this you're a coward. 2 Quote
