I love that I elicit such vitriol from some members here.  Sure even if I pull out the pom poms and praise McD to the heavens😉, the same people will find something wrong.

Talk to me mid October, because we have some tough games that will define what this team is this year.

As for warranted critisism of Beane and McDermott... they deserve it. Mistakes have been made that looked avoidable and have cost us a solid chunk of our championship window

we know.  you go looking for it, and when you don't find it, you go looking harder.

Haters is such a cop out generic term. Posters have legitimate concerns about coaching. It can happen and not be a hater. McDermy is a good but not great coach. 13 seconds was my call for firing him. But he is a good coach and I don’t hate him.

Again you forget McD is the saviour of this franchise.  He is a decent coach, but has his flaws.  The Bills generally win or lose due to Allen as regardless how he plays, every opposing coach is scheming on both sides of the ball how to beat the Bills.  This is the same with Mahomes as they are the two most dynamic qbs in football and you go into every game figuring out how the offence will score 27-30 vs. Buffalo or KC, control TOP and the defence holds them under 24.

Yes plenty of games where they don't score that many (see first two weeks KC), but that doesn't mean the game plan changed.  You don't want to see Mahomes or Allen on the field.

IT WAS AGAINST THE RAIDERS.

Our problems HAVE ALWAYS stemmed from playing our rivals and not much weaker teams.

I'll revisit this post in a few weeks when we get to the heart of our schedule.

Good teams are supposed to beat up on weak teams. Games against divisional rivals are always tough.

I think this was that reminder to the league that... Buffalo is not dead, they are not broken.  They have a good team, a good team dynamic, and all the hullabaloo from the offseason was just noise.  The best TEAMS go far, not just QBs, coaches, etc.  These guys play for each other and it shows.

We lost a close one to the jets... we lost one last year to them too.  I expect that we're going to want to really kick their butts in November.

Eh? As others here have pointed out, the Raiders did nothing on defense…*nothing* The Jets D was neutered by Dallas. Not saying it’s apples v apples. But let’s revisit after Miami.

After TWO games?! One of them against an inferior Raiders team, and the other against a Jets team they should have demolished once Rodgers got knocked out.

I think I'll wait 2-3 months and see where the Bills are at that time. But like many folks in here, I thought that McClappy should have been canned after the 13 second disaster.

Do you think there are worse Monday takes on this forum after a win or a loss?

Honestly, I would probably have to say after a win, maybe because a loss keeps a lot of the wackos away lol?

Nothings really changed. Especially not with a win over the Raiders. See how the season ends for me. We could win 12 and have another heart breaking finish in playoffs

I don’t think anyone should be taking any victory laps yet, but Dorsey’s game plans thus far have shown a willingness to adapt and give Josh the “easy” plays we’ve been asking for.  McD has also broken some trends with his playing of rookies and his aggressiveness.

Let’s hope it continues.

I nominate this post for post of the day—perfectly encapsulates what we should be taking away from this point in the season, imho.

All of them.

Fine. What's the ratio? 30/20/40? With the remaining 10 for number of delay of game penalties?

Remind me, where did the Bills rank last year in rhythm in the NFL? Were they 22nd? 17th?

You're doing an excellent job proving my point. It doesn't exist except as a vague generalization, basically meaning consistently successful.

I haven't been complaining about Dorsey.... but I'm not a fan of McD.  When has his coaching moves helped the team over the hump in a big, difficult game?

I say we are two games in, and we are a .500 team. I’m not a hater, but I see the big picture. Nothing is certain at this point. Let’s win the next one. Then keep moving. A bit early to schedule any parades, I’m afraid.

The negative knee jerk reaction after a single loss should be a lesson if you want to overreact over a single win

.

PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 16-1 BABY!!!!!

We should be 2-0 and we are 1-1. That is underachieving. Come back after 8 games. If we the Bills are worse than 6-2 that will also be a disappointment. If we miss the 1 seed by 1 game, then yes the Jets loss sucks. If we miss the playoffs altogether then it is a huge disappointment. Anything less than an AFC championship game will be a let down. Just the reality of where this team should be at. So when you play a stinker and your game looks like the smell, then you can criticize everyone. There are no free passes unless its game 17 and your resting your whole roster.

Considering he moved on from Dennison to Daboll I could argue that took us from just a team that makes it to playoffs to one that can win a round or 2.

Need more time to evaluate -- I liked the play calling better and the execution better on the offense side of the ball against a potentially weak opponent in the LVR. I also have liked McD's defense through the first 2 games.

We will be in a better place to review their performances in about 8 more games.
