The additions of Kincaid and Torrence have been huge....forget this McD doesn't play rookies stuff....these two have been plugged into the starting lineup from minute one, and already seem to be playing like seasoned vets. The three-headed monster at RB worked out great today as all three of them bring different skills to the table. I'm excited to see how this offense continues to progress over the course of the season. I really enjoyed watching how Josh operated the offense today....the more of that we see, the more successful the Bills will be. Did he really? He did the same thing for the first few weeks last year trouncing the Rams and Titans and then got away from it over time. 1

I know Josh has already a highlight reel machine but it was really good to see him play a “normal” game. Hopefully the one positive to come from the Jets loss is Josh learning to play steady, but not thrilling, sometimes. Last year's Rams game in the opener gets my vote
SoCal Deek
Watching the game yesterday it was as if Josh and the offensive coaching staff had read every post on here following last week’s disaster. Well done TBD! They: Took what the defense gave them. Stopped chucking the ball downfield. Used all three running backs. Spread the ball around in the passing game. Controlled the clock.

I prefer staying mostly even keel. Allen is an elite QB that gets too aggressive sometimes for his own good...usually when he feels they should be up a lot more than they are and he tries to mash the pedal down without regard for the road he is driving on(aka the gameflow). He needs to gain a better understanding of what he SHOULD be doing based on how the game is going and not on what they want to accomplish as an offense. That is a high level nuance that I hope he can get a better grasp on sometime soon.

Coming out after the Jets game, you just knew Josh was on a leash and the first two plays being runs, I knew that was going to be the calls and that first possession was garbage. Add to that again we couldn't score from the 1 yard line and needed a second 4th & goal from the 1 to score another time. How has this become a pattern of late? No real deep balls and most down field plays were Allen buying time or just Diggs shaking his defender (and one big pass to Davis). 2021 Allen was the king of 15-20 yard lasers. Yes a much better game and took what the Raiders gave them, but still seems like something is missing. Kind of a shallow view of what was going on, Allen played smart, took what he was given by the Raiders defense, and low and behold we kicked azs. The game plan will change from week to week, but you can bet that we will see a lot of underneath passes from Josh this season, doing so will open up the longer passes in due time, and guess what, we have a running game that scored points to boot, all good stuff to see. 1

It’s great that he’s flashing early. By week 10 or so Kincaid will be a major, major problem for opposing defenses. At this point he doesn't even know what the hell he is doing and is still learning a ton every week and even every play. I thought starting the game with 2 straight runs was less about putting "Allen on a leash" and more about breaking tendencies. The Bills almost never run the ball twice in a row. I don't get the insistence on perfection in a sport whch has only seen one team in it's 100 year history go undefeated. The Bills were lethal in the Red Zone yesterday. Failing to score on one drive from the 1 yard line should not constitute a problem in the context of how all the other Red Zone visits went. There was no need to throw the ball deep. The Raiders stubbornly and foolishly stayed in their shell D hoping that the pundits were right and Allen would grow bored and throw a couple of INT's. Can I also say, screen passes too should be better executed? Yes only week two, but lots of work still to be done imo. 7 minutes ago, CincyBillsFan said: I thought starting the game with 2 straight runs was less about putting "Allen on a leash" and more about breaking tendencies. They couldn't score from the one yard line (two cracks), another time it was on 4th down and the Shakir pass was something only Allen & Mahomes could do. This too goes back to 2021 and issues in the redzone.
Lane Meyer K12
I was really excited about what Cook could bring to the table before the season began. I hope this game is a sign of things to come. It is too soon to tell but having a Thurman/Kelly like combo adds a dynamic that is very hard to stop. Utah John
The most outrageous thing I heard criticizing the Bills came from someone who showed up on Sports Center -- not the usual bald guy host, but a visiting bald guy expert. He went on and on about how Josh Allen is still reckless -- with a couple of his trademark bullet passes into the end zone for TDs as examples. And he said the Bills were not good at running the ball, so Allen has to do it. I guess if you're an expert appearing on Sports Center you can spout all these widespread myths and get paid for doing it. Well, we can see better. What Allen can do is things that most QBs can't do, so when he does it it's not being reckless, it's being effective. And as far as not being able to run the ball, I think the bald guy expert didn't see what Cook cooked up, as well as how Murray and Harris gashed the Raiders up the middle. Cook's speed and ability to stretch the field sideways is exactly what the Bills have lacked and needed to open up the middle of the field for Diggs and Kincaid. If the O line can hold up and maybe even continue to improve, the offense will be deadly.
