Lost Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I thought the hit to the head looked kinda deliberate watching it live. Looked like a Christian Wilkins kind of play. 3 3 2 Quote

zow2 Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I thought there was also a crushing hit in the first half where he got up with the black pellets all over his helmet. I recall his head hitting the turf hard on that one. 1 1 1 Quote

Josh face-planted hard. Actually, this is the play where I thought Josh was concussed. you see his head bounce off the turf. He stays down for a sec, then camera shows him with an empty ,expressionless look in his eyes. I was surprised he wasn’t pulled out of the game by the nfl observer. 4 2 1 Quote
Dick_Cheney Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Glad to finally see a thread with video about this. I believe it’s extremely possible, and maybe even likely. I want to say there was one other instance where a similar hit occurred as well. The numbers don’t lie, and personally, having a minor concussion is a much more reasonable explanation for his decision making than simply suddenly forgetting how the hell to play the position. No way that he or McD would come out and admit this, especially with how everything with Tua went down last year. 2 1 Quote
SCBills Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 I wouldn’t rule this out. I know we’re all looking for excuses, but this seems to be a potentially valid one. 1 Quote

Too much risk. Any reaction to a hit in the head could trigger a concussion evaluation from the booth. If Allen was faking for a flag that was his first major risky decision of the night and we didn’t see a concussion. We saw the wheels start to turn for everything else that followed. Quote
GoBills808 Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 yeah ive seen guys do that after a hit they took exception to not so much trying to draw a flag but more just a moment of shock and a little anger getting hit when you didn't expect it 1 Quote
Lost Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Josh is going to have to go to Judo training with Tua soon. 10 Quote
UKBillFan Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Either way it's bad. He wasn't concussed and he played bad football or he was concussed and no one pulled him out of the game. The video does offer a possible concussion possibility and, even if he wasn't, he may have still be shaken up for the next play. But at the same time, he's made plays like the three interceptions and fumble when he hasn't hit his head so still needs to learn. 2 1 Quote

It wasn't inaccuracy or erratic behavior that caused his problems. It was well considered (from his perspective) poor decisions. You can explain each of his turnovers away through his pattern of decision making going back to college. have you ever liked one Bills player? 3 Quote
JakeFrommStateFarm Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 This would explain alot 1 Quote
Arkady Renko Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 I did wonder this. His late performance reminded me of Tua’s game last year against the Packers. 2 Quote
DabillsDaBillsDaBills Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 It's possible, but unlikely. The problem is that Allen has played exactly like this in multiple games over multiple years. His only diagnosed concussion was 2019 when he got knocked out of the game vs Patriots and was available the next week. If his erratic play was from an un-diagnosed concussion it seems likely that he's had multiple un-diagnosed concussions. While I think that's a possibility I think it's a pretty slim chance. 1 Quote

artmalibu Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 I think its possible.. Also on a different play he was tackled and he fell forwards and looked like he hit his head on the turf hard. Shortly after that they showed him and he looked all glazed over. Quote

Doc Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 (edited) Sure it's possible. But only Josh knows and I doubt he's going to admit it. Edited September 14, 2023 by Doc 1 Quote
The Wiz Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 So legit question, did they not flag either of those players for hitting Allen after he was already on the ground and then they jumped on the back of his head? 1 1 Quote
