VABills Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Dolphins GM Rick Spielman left the organization Friday. All indications are that Nick Saban forced him out. Spielman presided over some terrible trades in his short reign, trading second and third round picks away for A.J. Feeley and Lamar Gordon. Jun. 3 - 12:00 pm et Source: MiamiDolphins.com Jeez everyone blasting him for the Gordon trade. What a surprise?
richNjoisy Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 what a revolving door of players and manager/coaches they have there in south Florida makes one want to cry for the poor fishes. now all they need to do is bring Ricky back to "cheer everybody up"

Hopefully he doesn't get a GM that can handle all those responsibilities, and tries to do it all himself. That would be a pretty good recipe for disaster.
zow2 Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Don't be fooled into thinking it's turmoil. I'm sure fish fans are high fiving each other that the Spielman idiot is out of there. It's probably a great move for Miami to have him leave before he was fired.
BuffOrange Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 The Sports Guy had a great quote last summer: "Instead of going 4-12, lets give up a 2nd round pick for Lamar Gordon so that we can go 5-11". That was of course, assuming Lamar Gordon would be a difference-maker in any game.
ganesh Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 That was of course, assuming Lamar Gordon would be a difference-maker in any game. 350537 Let us not crow....We gave a 3rd rounder for Billy Joe Hobert....Gave a 1st and 4th for RJ, another 3rd rounder for Fair Catch Watson, 1st rounder for DB, even though there was no competition for him.
udonkey Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 I hear Dan Marino's still available... 350593 I hear Dan Marino getting booed in Canton...oh wait, thats not for a couple more months (but I'll be there).

I wish we would stop trading away picks!
/dev/null Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 no sh--! I wish we would stop trading away picks! 350643 even when we try to trade picks for picks...see also ryan denney
BuffOrange Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 To be fair, Watson was a punt catcher, not a returner.
stuckincincy Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 Perhaps Saban will become the next Butch Davis...
/dev/null Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 I hear Dan Marino's still available... 350593 I've heard of him! Get 'er done TD!!!
