There were some positives this game

Yeah, my positives was the pass rush. Groot and Floyd were excellent.  Imagine a healthy Von on top of that. Milano is still a beast. I thought Tre was good too despite the TD pass miraculous catch.  The tackle attempt on Hall was a bummer though.  Hard to really say how good our coverage is with Wilson at QB though.  We shall see soon.  I also think Kincaid will be a stud if Josh looks his way more. The short game overall looks there to be had if Josh takes it. Lastly, I think our line did pretty well considering the Jets front.  Looked better than last season to me.

 

Ok one last positive... it's just week 1.  I am upset and disappointed but I am not freaking out or throwing in the towel.

Our defense was good

We almost one I know that that doesn’t matter to most people, bu it’s only game one

Not to be a sour puss here. Yes the defense looked good. There was a lot to like about what transpired.

 

However or but...The Bill played the Jets. Arguably one of the worst offenses in the league without Rodgers. At the very least a bottom tier offense. They also suck at protecting the QB and Wilson sucks. Lastly, Breece Hall's first game back off major injury. That's not insignificant. 

 

When the game was on the line the defense failed to stop Wilson for the go ahead TD. That's not insignificant.

 

Yes, I liked a lot of what I saw but it also has to be put into proper perspective. Let's not get carried away with the defense. Giving up an 83 yard run is unacceptable. That's not insignificant. 

 

There was plenty that needs to be cleaned up. The jury is still out on whether this D can contain a top flighted offense. 

 

I will say the defense didn't blow the game. Allen single handily lost the game.

Be sure that was off of a turnover, correct it’s not like Wilson drove the length of the field and scored that touchdown
 

I will be in Josh Allen’s corner, no matter what, but he lost this game for us

Absolutely not. Cook had a couple decent runs through wide open holes and did nothing else all game. He went down on first contact every time and created nothing more than what the blocking handed him.

How was this their Super Bowl?  They came in with big hopes for the year and then they were dashed almost instantly.  But they had Super Bowl hopes for the season, and given the defense and the potential of Rodgers, it was probably legit hope.  

 

Don't try to pin this game as less important to the Bills than the Jets.

Think we should try a “NASCAR” package of Von/Epenesa/Groot/Floyd a few times and see if there’s anything there. Jets had a lot of trouble blocking the explosive players (which is foreseeable). 

phillips should be inside with groot in that scheme in my opinion.

The entire offseason was about the Jets. All eyes were on the jets. Everyone knew it. Sure they got the air squeezed out of them for a minute, but by Q3 the stadium was as loud as it hs ever been again. The Bills have played much bigger games, and that was these Jets' first situation in a game like that

Yea I wasn’t impressed w groot. He makes a good run play every game. That’s prob his best most surprising production in nfl. Looks the same and that’s fine. Def a good starter. But he’s NEVER. Going to be a pro bowl or all pro player. And fans need to stop counting on him to be that. 

 

GROOT has no pash rush skills and moves. He doesn’t FINISH enough. 
 

leonard Floyd is easily our best pass rusher. Journeyman starter (not a knock he’s really good). Has a full repertoire of pass rush moves.

Yea the backups were in on that drive. They started with the 1s but when the Jets got their first 1st down of the drive they subbed them out. Presumably thinking they needed fresh legs. Then having just watched it back the two "goal to go" plays they brought Ed and Daquan back in at DT but Shad played LDE and AJE played RDE.
