He got blown up many times. 1 Quote

Joe Burrow is 7-8 all time in the AFCN and no one questions him even after he put up an even worse stat line yesterday. It’s not unheard of for QBs to have bad games within their conference. With two games to plan from, McD couldn't even get us to our 2-game average of last season, with a better offense. Last season we had the 2nd ranked scoring offense. Six teams or up more points against them than we did in our best game last season. They ranked 8th, 11th, 14th, 18th, 23rd, and 26th. Quote

No ability to run through contact and in fact, he crumbles. It’s weird. He’s a limited back and another Beane failure. He’s not terrible but he’s a niche RB 1 3 Quote

I was like run blitzes are incredibly rare unless you’re playing the titans. He was just picking gaps and not paying attention to his keys at all. It was clear as Day. Not only that but he has zero ability to take on blockers. He was late on a run to the outside and couldn’t cross Bectons face and got absolutely rag-dolled. He has no power or thump. Light hands. I honestly don’t know what they see in him! 1 1 Quote
Mango Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 (edited) I’ve been pretty hard on Beane at times. But today just about every unit played somewhere between well and lights out except…..QB. I guess maybe there was some meh at RB up the middle. Also one play where Bernard got hilariously knocked on his ash. Edited September 12, 2023 by Mango Quote

Rousseau was dominating and looked like the best player on the field the first half, Floyd got the stats but Rousseau wrecked the game when he was out there. Torrence managed to hold up pretty impressively for his first game against what’s considered a top D line imo Benford held up. Epenesa made a play or two in his limited time. Kincaid obviously impressed in his limited touches. I get the negativity but let’s not just ignore some of the bright spots as we try and place blame on everyone. The negativity should be prioritized: Allen throwing it to Jets as if they’re teammates,,,, 3rd&2 here, sure lets throw to the same exact quickout/10y out design that didn’t work earlier in the game with two bigger TEs and this time we’ll use G. Davis a wr, so the Jets counter with top safety help = INT and an awful one. Then, fumbles twice on one play, and losses away the second fumble. That was after the Jets tied the game 13. The Bills already in imploding mode with the fighting. Then Goddam Allen.. no clue why you couldn’t complete the pass to Murray who was right in front of you on the left side which wouldn’t given Bass a gimme as opposed to the 50 clanker good. SBXXV flashback for me, except worse still, Allen threw it to Murray like Murray was death and would destroy the world if he caught that ball. Dorsey’s stale ass play designs. Beane can’t be blamed for Dorsey job and Allen’s play, that’s more on McD keeping Dorsey, and not getting real coaching for JA17. Beane could be asked about all these DBs that have more issues than Playboy, but that might be all McD’s calls anyways. And I don’t think “Beane!” when I think Offesive line guru whisperer.. maybe someone needs to be hired on draft day for that. Quote

I'm sure that there were a couple, but I can't recall any that were in the box, particularly stuffing the line. In fact, on one play, I texted my buddy and said that he looked like a log in a tsunami. He was abused in the running game. Made a few nice tackles on pass plays, but after gains. He made one nice tackle solo for a 1 yard gain. Other than that he got trucked the whole game. I swear to God I couldn't tell him and Benford apart. He is so small that he makes Milano look big. It's a dam joke McDermott thinks this guy can play. Another Nathan Peterman. Bernard wouldn't make half the rosters in the NFL but he starts for McDumbass. 1 1 Quote

ALG1130 Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Yeah, you know, Beanes draft picks were not the problem tonight. Rousseau and Kincaid looked good. Where Beane has missed is bringing in more help. We needed it in the off season. I would not have cared if he sacrificed some of the defense for a stronger OL, or more weapons for Josh. Really, really wanted DHop. This was the most disappointing off season in a while, and made me think he has given up on trying to bring in players to get us over the hump. Quote

Allen hand picked Dorsey to succeed Daboll. It wouldn’t have happened unless Josh agreed to it. I think the single best thing the Bills could do is replace Dorsey with a seasoned veteran OC with a winning and proven resume that would hopefully instantly wake up Allen and give him someone he respects, believes, listens to. Allen needs a superior as OC, not a peer. I totally agree with you. I really think the only reason Dorsey is OC is because Josh wanted him. But otoh, I'm not sure the constant dumb plays can be coached out of Allen. 6 years now and he is still making some of the worst decisions. Quote
Chuck Wagon Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Cheaping out on DeAndre Hopkins when he’s literally doing podcasts saying he would love to come to Buffalo because you “don’t want to mortgage the future” when the future is draft picks in the 20s and a rapidly aging core was a colossal mistake. 1 1 1 Quote

He sucks and Beane had plenty of chances to bring in competition. Josh doesn’t trust him. 2. MLB is a disaster and not bringing in a vet to compete was an obvious blunder. Bernard just jumping into gaps was something I’ve never seen before from a NFL MLB. 3. Cook is not a lead back and has never been a lead back. Not in high school, not in college and certainly not in the NFL. You could sneeze on the guy and he’d fall down. Josh was terrible today and Dorsey was brutal but Beane’s failures were on full display tonight. Wrong thread. You’re looking for the Overreaction Tuesday thread. Quote
