Ignorant.  Lol.

He’s a better pass catching target than Gabe Davis.  He should be #2 in targets.  He’s better at getting open.  And he’s MUCH better at catching passes.  If he’s not #2, Dorsey and/or Allen are making a mistakes.

Based on what?  College stats?  He hasn't played a down of regular season NFL football.

Based on college stats alone Kincaid's best season wasn't as good as Gabe Davis' best college season.  At this point its conjecture based on what a few people are telling you should or shouldn't be.

The fact that you can literally sit here and say that the rookie tight end who, based on scheme, may or may not even get as many snaps as Dawson Knox, should be the #2 targeted player on the team tells me all I need to know.  The fact that two other people agreed with you is even more mindblowing.

If the kid ends up Travis Kelce I'll be overjoyed but to expect it....give me a break.  No wonder you guys are always so let down.     And then to double down and say if he isn't the #2 The All Pro QB and OC are at fault....My God Man.  The best rookie tight end in football last year went 32 450 yards and 3 tds.

Based on eyeballs.  some people can see talent.  Some people can’t and instead see others as ignorant.

if you don’t think he’s a better route runner and pass catcher than Gabe Davis, that just tells me you’re not very good at evaluating of talent.  That’s ok, once he’s a played a handful of games, you’ll agree with us ignants.

Amazing for a big man to see him spin around and break free of tackles. Plus, he can break tackles.

I think he will be the best natural pass catcher on this team THIS year. And yes, that includes Diggs (not saying Kincaid will be more valuable, just literally the best hands on the team). I bet he has giant hands and combined with his talent, that's why they're like giant glue traps. No, that's not a thing but that's what I wrote.

Hope he is amazing.  That said, he hasn't played a down in real NFL football.  Fully expect him to be 3rd or 4th on the team on receptions this year.  Expecting anything more because of media attention  or some tea leaves read because he had great games against Southern Utah, USC or Oregon last year, is a recipe for let down.

Take it one game at a time.  Dont put too much stock into a 1st year tight end to be the catalyst for a great season.

Agreed. I'm tempering expectations. College to NFL is a big jump. Corners/Safetys in the NFL are better. I'm hopeful, but those highlights in college may take awhile to translate to the NFL.

10 1/4 inch hands.  Pretty big.

This is kind of where I’m at.

I am Very optimistic on Kincaid and I would bet he’s going to be a very good tight end one day.

But the facts are he hasn’t played an nfl down yet and TE is a slow developing position generally speaking.

I think people are going to be disappointed if they are expecting something like a 70/800/7 TD stat line from him this year

Have you guys really watched that much Utah football?

Well, there *are* some folks here who actually work for the University of Utah…

I cant see the regime missing on this guy.  They got a good one.  They'll look good for it less what they could have gotten instead.  He's going to be a chain movin pain in the ass for opposing d coordinators.  I've watched enough Ute football to deem him sticky hands, and in traffic.  Personally doubt the receiving corps is a problem.

I read a lot of Davis criticism on this board, but i guess i fail to see it as he had huge catches in the playoffs vs the Colts and Chiefs when they looked liked they were dead.  This guy only helps matters and i cant help but remember a few easy ones Knox dropped.  I like that it's the Jets even if an L and even if the entire rest of the division has a W.  Its the run and vs the run i'm concerned with and the Jets will be a run first team even if Jet wr Wilson leads the leauge in yardage.

The return of those safeties have to be involved in the run defense and they need to concede they failed with the Cook pick if he doesnt get going and and hand it to Murray, and or hopefully a healthy enough Harris and use Cook a change up instead of THE guy.  Josh Allen is gonna hit ya if youre in the right uniform, lets hope the OL holds up and they can lean on some defenses instead of every crucial game coming to that last possession and bring some physicality and ball control.  I appreciate that Singletary ran hard given his size.  I wont miss him til i see enough Cook.

The TE is a nice pickup that you can only point to the opportunity costs of missing on a MLB or a true 3 down back.

I had an epiphany last night.....

I was watching back highlights of the KC/DET game and found myself thinking just how defunct the KC offense is without Kelce. How nice would it be to have a TE like that to just always be open and move the sticks.

I then poured a beer and headed to youtube.

I watched about every highlight tape of Kincaid I could find. Now, I've done this before a few times (watched his YT tape), and of course I've always been impressed with what I saw. I was happy we drafted him and happy he's been a star in camp/etc..... This isn't a "watchout for Kincaid" post. Everyone here as well as the NFL media knows his potential.

But this time I watched his highlights I couldn't help but see the similarities between what I've seen with this Bills team the last 3 years with Allen. Alot of the clips have the Utah QB scrambling or rolling out - out of options at WR, and just finding Kincaid out of nowhere. Or, they run a bunch of crossing routes that free up Kincaid from the line for a perfect long ball. I couldn't help but see Allen. The Bills have not had a solid safety blanket since Beasley, and Knox lacks the speed from the TE spot to truly get into the open field.

I came away with one conclusion. This kid is going to be #2 on the Bills in receptions and yards this year. Kincaid is getting a lot of comparisons to Bease production from the slot and I think that's actually criminal. He will be better. Beasley never had good YAC, and Kincaid not only catches everything - he gets upfield quick. Not only that, he will demand defenders attention and open up Diggs. I think Diggs will have an impressive YAC/R versus his 3.9 last year. I think he'll get into space with the ball alot more than we've seen.

I think he will be a HUGE factor on Monday and beyond. The Jets also not game planning for this attack like they've game planned the previous Bills teams has me optimistic. Like having an Ace up your sleeve at the poker table. I like him for 6 receptions and over 70 yards Monday.

I'm sorry if this is redundant but with 2 sleeps to go I know who I'm eagerly ready to watch come Monday. I'm sure you've all seen this a few times, but here's a link for some additional Hype -

A star will be born on MNF it’s Kingkaid! He was the first player i fell in love with during the draft process. Outside of Allen this will be McBeane best pick by far.

Most of the slow development is more because of the blocking aspects of playing the position. Kincaid is an older more mature prospect he’ll still have a learning curve but I truly believe those stats are reachable because he’ll be lining up in the slot the majority of the time.

It IS possible for Kincaid to be featured in the Bills offense much like Beas was before him withOUT that having a negative impact on Davis. I wonder how many of us would even accept Cole Beasley's 1st 3-year Bills production for Kincaid this season.

The most impressive thing to me about Dalton Kincaid are his football instincts.

In the Posted highlight video, DK knew where the closet referee was after almost every catch. Impressive stuff!

In all seriousness, his football instincts or football IQ seem to be very high. Really looking forward to seeing how he does this season and beyond.

I can’t remember the last time a rookie had a huge impact on the Bills offense. Just think it’s a heck of a lot harder to do than some are making it out to be.

I honestly believe he’ll end up 4th or 5th in targets. Diggs, Davis and Knox will be ahead of him with Kincaid then in the mix with Harty and Cook.

I believe Kincaid can be a good one but I just don’t see the impact some are suggesting, at the very least not until later in the season.

I assume you are talking about Chigoziem Okonkwo from the Titans here. A few things to consider.

- His QBs were Tannehill, Dobbs and Willis. They combined for 456 pass attempts last season.

- Allen attempted 567. Over 100 more targets for pass catchers here than on the run oriented Titans offense.

- Allen had, by my count 181 of his attempts aimed at either the TE or slot receiver last year. If roughly the same amount come this year those targets I would expect to be split between DK, Sherfield, Harty and Shakir (to a lesser extent). And just my hunch, but I suspect DK will out snap or draw even with Sherfield and Harty in the slot.

- While Okonkwo did occasionally line up all over for the Titans he spent the majority of his time lined up as an inline TE on a run first offense. I expect Kincaid to have far more opportunities in the slot.

With the difference between the Bills and Titans offensive philosophy I fully expect Kincaid to see more routes than Okonkwo did last year. More routes=more opportunity.

I see absolutely no reason why Kincaid can't have a 50 catch (average just under 3 receptions a game of plays all 17) season. With Allen averaging almost 11 targets a game last year to slot and TE positions, I think Kincaid seeing 4-5 targets a game isn't out of pocket.

Certainly not impossible.

This year? I give it maybe a 10 - 20% chance.
