Well, just to be fair, PFF's ratings of Rousseau this year:

 

Overall: 8th out of 199 rated "edge defenders" 

Vs. Pass: 9th

Vs. Run: 30th

 

Overall grade of 88. That's right on the verge of "elite" by their method.

 

So it's not like PFF doesn't appreciate exactly how good Rousseau has been ...

As long as Beth Mowins isn't on the broadcast, I can listen. She has a very irritating voice, makes a lot of mistakes, and just is easily the worst overall.

If I don’t like an announcer I just mute my tv.  If I want to listen to any audio, I’ll just put on the Bills feed on Sirius, but it is delayed by one minute or so.

Listen to WGR live during games. Watch the game on antenna, still off by a up to 20 seconds.

Problem is when rewatching, gotta listen the the announcing team.

Maybe you should listen again and then listen to him after the “no, no , noooo”. You would hear the excitement in his voice. Hard to hear that when you already don’t like him.

Collinsworth is still the best at seeing in real time what has made a play work or not work without needing a slow mow. Often Romo will start watching a slow mo saying something like "watch here Jim the guard misses his block and that leads to pressure...." and then as the replay develops ends up correcting himself to "oh no it was actually a delayed blitzer... great call by the coordinator." And that irritates the hell out of me. Once we are into the slow mo I can see for myself what has happened. His screeching is adding no value at all. Collinsworth is rarely wrong when he calls the Xs and Os even before the replay. He just has a better eye.

 

I'd love to debate this with you but I just can't do it honestly.

I've reached the point where I don't even hear 90% of what these guys are saying; it just goes in one side and out the other like white noise.

As far as them catching stuff live, I'd guess that has as much to do with their spotters as anything else.

I will continue my proselytizing but I paid $100 for 365 days of NFL premium. That means that along with getting Redzone I can stream the team radio broadcast. I've run that for the few games this year that haven't been national broadcasts and I'll be perfectly honest: the game analysis is muuuuch better than a lot of the B and C tier announcers. And Collingworth.

 

Plus game rewind to scratch that itch during March to training camp
