I can’t handle the discussions of Josh Allen needing to defeat Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen needing to slay the dragon. “Josh Allen needs to do what Joe Burrow did” My goodness… enough. McDermott & co. need to coach the game of their lives because Allen always does his part and he deserves to be able to “win like Burrow” if that what it takes because his Defense stepped up. This is the game McDermott makes up for 13 seconds. He has to. Which is why I reference the 4th and 2 decision to put the ball in Josh's hands to put the game away, as McD finally understanding what it takes to win. Until that game, we've always relied on just getting and maintaining even a slight lead and hoping we outsmart their offense with smart defensive play calling. You have to go for the kill, and he finally gets it..or Brady at least gets it. Either way it's what we need. 1 Quote

This is the game McDermott makes up for 13 seconds. He has to. Last weeks game was an even more got to have it game than this weeks. The narrative doesn't change if the Bills lose this Sunday. If they win, the narrative changes in the positive direction some but Mahomes and the Chiefs are still the best team / legacy up through this season even if the Bills and Allen win a Super Bowl. Last week, a third consecutive loss at home in the divisional round would have been legacy defining in the wrong way. Allen would have had three consecutive home losses to Burrow, Mahomes and Jackson. He would have been looked at as the 4th best QB in the grouping simply due to all of those losses against his peers. I wanted to the Bills to win last weeks game more than any game I can recall in my lifetime. This week, I want them to win but I don't feel the same amount of pressure to avoid an embarrassing defeat that would crush a legacy. The legacy is already there that the Bills and Allen can't beat Mahomes in the post season. Same is true of virtually every other QB and team AFC or NFC. Joe Burrow beat Mahomes once in the postseason but even that star is starting to dim as the years continue to go by. Quote

Praises Joe Burrow, not Josh 2. Lamar didn't learn that you have to take care of the football in the playoffs which is why Josh and the Bills won 3. Josh has to be Superman to win no doubt 4. Beating the Chiefs in the regular season means JACK because it is different 5. Josh could "blow a fuse" if the Chiefs go up 2 scores and say watch Brady when that happens and he needs to buckle down There is no PRAISE there, no questioning his teammates (you made that up!) and here is the segment. wthef do we care what cam newton thinks? cam newton….. why does anyone care what cam newton says? 2 1 Quote

Maybe he's just trying to bring some awareness to the fact that Patty gets some preferential treatment & that the NFL might want to keep a eye on that in this game to literally make the playing field a bit more even . That would definitely suck if the Chiefs won a game by a couple of bad calls by the refs but you can bet that McD has probably spoke to the fact that they have to keep their heads on straight when going in on Mahomes ... JakeFrommStateFarm Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Bills basically can't touch mahomes. They can only hurry and chase him as he runs to the sidelines Any contact at all will draw a flag Quote
mathja Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Maybe the NFL knows America a behind Buffalo & they’re sick of the Chiefs. Maybe they know that another Brady versus Manning rivalry is good for the league. It’s not a rivalry if Pat keeps winning. Maybe the NFL will just let them play. Maybe they’ll even help America’s Bills out today. Quote
Generic_Bills_Fan Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Seems like the focus is all on rtp but what grinds me gears the most is both secondaries are usually playing pretty grabby all game in the playoffs but then the chiefs opponent will get called for a huge marginal dpi/defensive hold late in the game that has been let go all day/night 1 Quote
Slowcoach Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Hopefully Josh has earned the right to get call by now. 🤣 Quote

MPL Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I can see this going one of three ways tonight: 1. The refs want to overcorrect and a few monumental calls go in favor of the Bills. 2. The refs don't want to bring any more attention to this and keep the flags in their pocket. 3. The Chiefs turn this into extra motivation and we're screwed. Quote
zow2 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I think they will over-correct tonight and let stuff go. Heck, Oliver tackled Lamar like 5 yards out of bounds last week and they let it go. You figure Mahomes or Allen would've gotten that call but i think the refs heard the noise from the Texans game. Quote
EmotionallyUnstable Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I’ve prepared myself for the following: Ball at the Bills 46 yard line. 3rd and 8 pass falls incomplete. Flag extended drive on a RTP call that inevitably reults in 6. You know it’s coming. Try not to break your TVs. Quote

I think this is the most likely outcome, especially considering Clete Blakeman is reffing. He's the most favorable official available this postseason we could've landed against KC. If it holds true, it's another sign this is our year. Quote
Doc Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago No, he's pointing out the inequity and saying they're looking to fix it. And I'm glad this is coming up and that Patty was actually asked directly about it. Quote
H2o Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Can you imagine how all of the QB's from previous eras feel right now? Joe Montana might have 3 more rings if they protected him this way. Kelly, Montana, Young, Simms, Aikman, they all took some wicked shots out there. 1 Quote

That and it feels like Jawaan Taylor NEVER gets called for a false start even though he practically tap dances at the line. So Mahomes goes down easily at times; most QBs do. Exhibit A: Allen, Josh. Royale with Cheese Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Will this be called the Patrick Mahomes rule? Quote
