The last time the Bills played tua, they nearly killed him AND the Bills should have won, given they walked up and down the field against them Also, silence dolfan Tua played in the second rematch in December. It was another close, back and forth, but The Bills won. 1 Quote

It doesn’t feel like a team that can win 4 games to win a Super Bowl. They will run into some defense that won’t allow Hill and Waddle to get freebies. Miami had stretches where they looked explosive and uncoverable. Most of the time it was on medium (10-15 yard) crossing routes, where Tua hit the receiver (mostly Tyreek Hill) at full speed and then he broke away for another 20-25 yards after the catch. There were a couple other times the Chargers let Hill go deep with no safety help, and got predictable results. However, there were a handful of other plays where Tua badly underthrew his WRs, almost resulting in disaster. One was the pick in the endzone. On another, Hill got nailed in the back by the safety. Anything Tua threw outside the hash marks lacked enough velocity to be completed. This is the blessing and the curse with Tua. He's smart and extremely accurate. But his arm strength just isn't on the same level as the other NFL elite. Smart defensive coordinators will find ways to clog the middle of the field and limit YAC. Not sure I would call them a gimmick (they will almost certainly still be a Top 5 offense this season), but they can be limited with the correct gameplan. In my opinion, the weakness for Miami is going to be the defense. It's been proven in the NFL time and again. It doesn't matter how "good" you are at coaching. Your players MUST fit the scheme to be successful. I'm not sure the players on the Dolphins roster fit a Vic Fangio defense. Quote
SCBills Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 (edited) Week 1 isn’t always indicative of what we’ll see this season, but I went into the season thinking the AFCN was the best division in the NFL. AFCE showed out, and the Pats, whewww thought they might actually pull that out against the Eagles. Browns looked tough, but Watson was still meh. No idea what the Bengals were on. Ravens won a game they should but suffered two huge injuries. Steelers showed why preseason doesn’t really matter when making predictions. AFCW looks like a joke, again. Raiders/Broncos, whatever. Chargers, one game in, look to be the pretenders they always are. Jaguars didn’t look great against a bad Colts team, but the Tannehill Titans don’t exactly look up to the challenge and the Colts/Texans should be 4 auto-wins. Cowboys & Niners looked bonkers good. BarleyNY Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 (edited) Dawand Jones news. RT Jack Conklin of the Browns got his knee blown out in the first half yesterday. Dawand Jones took over and is expected to start the rest of the season. He did well against the Bengals Sam Hubbard in sloppy conditions. Big challenges for him in upcoming weeks though. It starts with TJ Watt on MNF next week. He will also see David Ojabo and Nick Bosa in the next 4 weeks. Edited September 11, 2023 by BarleyNY 1 Quote
zow2 Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 Much like the Browns took Baker Mayfield #1 overall and *Should have* taken raw, unproven super athlete Josh Allen... I think Carolina will regret taking Bryce Young over super raw, big, athletic Anthony Richardson. Not that Young won't be decent, but Richardson has the look of a QB that could be really really good in the near future. 3 Quote

Having just got done watching that Indy/Jax game I think you’re absolutely right. Richardson with as raw and unpolished a QB as he was/is looked really good. Decent decision making and reads. 1 Quote

I just hate the strategy of taking a QB like Bryce Young who has such a low ceiling. If everything works out for the best, then he’s what? Kirk Cousins? Dak Prescott? And you will be stuck with that kind of QB long term unless you have the brass - and ownership buy in - to move on from that. Give me the high upside guy who can potentially help win a SB. If not, they flame out a you move on. 1 Quote

Nope... “Vaunted defense” was non existent against the chargers - they have massive problems on defense and were exposed jist so happens the chargers defense decided to not show up Like others have said - like the Baltimore debacle - I’m not buying what the dolphins are selling 2 hours ago, newcam2012 said: You don't account for the Miami's offense having to have a little say in it? Absolutely horrendous only plus I saw for Miami was McDaniel actually being smart at football game management - that’s it Nothing else was overly impressive like Baltimore how do you let tyreek behind you that many times ? Would never happen against a legit defense That team is overhyped and I’m not buying 1 Quote

It was a 5th rounder in 2023 because he was reinstated but the 2nd rounder depends on him signing a long-term extension. It can be a 3rd rounder based on playing time. But that's all because he was suspended indefinitely at the time of the trade. Quote
