Draconator
I personally didn't like his commentary, but I hope he finds exactly what he envisions in retirement.
Process
Hopefully he is in good health. The way they were talking about him this morning it's as if he died.
RobbRiddick
I thought this was announcing he was dead. Glad to see it isn't. Always liked Mort during the draft season and was shocked to see him looking so ill a few years ago. Glad he's still going strong, and good for him for quitting ESPN

thenorthremembers
One the last remnants of when ESPN was a good network. Enjoy Mort. 2

Straight Hucklebuck
He took issue with the Bills handling of Tom Donahoe if I remember correctly. Overall, he was a negligible piece of my overall football experience. If he ragged on the Bills pre-2018, they probably deserved it.

Airseven
He seemed unhealthy, or perhaps unsteady, in his delivery the past few years. Made me wonder what was wrong and why he’s still on television. Seems due time to move on. He was an effective, old-world reporter.
somnus00
I'm old enough to remember the days when TBD hated this guy for his negative Bills comments, and his loyalty to Tom Donahoe. Anyway, I wish him well in his retirement, and I hope he is in good health.
JDubya76
I’m not sure if he was sick but the last time I saw him in the network I remember thinking he looked frail. Good for him, hope he continues to live a long healthy life.

Between the time that Donahoe left the Steelers and went to work for the Bills he worked with Mort at ESPN and the two became friends. When TD was fired, Mort defended him and ragged on Ralph and the Bills organization. In particular, Mort was highly critical of the Bills first draft without TD (in 2006) and reported that there was mass confusion in the war room as led by Marv. Bills fans (especially on this board) took serious issue with Mort over all this -- and there were multiple posts here about him. That led Tim Graham (who also worked for ESPN at the time and was a friend of Mort's) to get upset and leave this board.

I'm with ya, man. And Mort was such a huge part of us getting inside information pre-internet.
