What a great place to come and talk football

Take a look at the topics on the first page:  Not a lot about the talents, the pluses and minuses of the position players because, well, it's all been said.  Now, everyone is just ready for things to get going.   In the meantime, lets talk about how the Cowboys are ruining football, Chad Kelly's contract, why someone is optimistic or pessimistic.  It's something to talk about while we're waiting, and pretty much all of us can find something interesting in one or another these topics.  

 

In a sense, it's as though we've all been through preseason and now we're ready.  There's nothing left other than wait.   We're the nervous guys in the landing craft, ready to go ashore on D-Day.  Just idle chatter before the battle.  They did it for real; remarkable courage, and I don't mean to demean them at all.  It's just that we have a similar feeling, trivial by comparison, but similar nonetheless.  

 

This forum provides that idle chatter nicely.

Well put.  I know there's a lot of angst amongst Bills fans but I just suggest you enjoy the ride.  Just think about where this team was at the end of 2016 and where we are now. 

-We're ticked off when anybody doesn't think our quarterback isn't top three in the league. 

-We have a QB and WR who are breaking individual team records every year.

-This is the second consecutive opening game in a Prime Time slot where the whole world will be watching.  When in our history has that ever happened?

-The league is so into us that we only have 5 (maybe 6) 1:00pm Sunday games. 

-We're appalled with any national figure who thinks we won't either win the division or make the playoffs.

-We cared about this team so much that 13 seconds felt like a cruel combination of Wide Right and MSM all over again (at least for me).

-We have a GM that isn't dumb enough to draft a RB in the first round (trademark of the drought).

-We have a new stadium being built so we don't have to live on the constant worry of relocation.

 

And most important of all..............

-The Patriots went from terrifying to kind of cute with their whole 1970's roster build thing.

I no longer believe I actually have any ability to foresee what's coming.  Just going to live it as it happens.  

True , I do feel we are a lock making the playoffs, I expect the division as well, been too consistent,  lot of upgrades and depth. Barring big time injuries, it's SB or Bust. No excuses, no moral victories

Always enjoy the ride. It's the climb. 

 

I have just watched the Urban Meyer / Florida Gators doc on Netflix. The thing that really stood out to me is his candid view on how anti-climactic the winning felt. I totally empathise with that. I was there as a soccer coach as well. The moment of joy in the winning was fleeting. The real joy is in the building, in the fighting, in the working, in the hoping. It's the climb.

By MSM I assume you meant to type MCM, which is also wrong. You should refer to it as MCFL in perpetuity.
