Like sports leagues are not in the red because of it, they are just not making an additional $28B split between networks, streamers, advertisers, teams, and salary caps, right? I would think once you break down all the parties that that $28B goes to, the loss in profit is fairly negligible.

 

The cost for consumption is getting way too high. We have gone from basically free with an antenna, to heading to the bowling ally for $2 beers during blackout games, to needing to spend $100 per month on a streaming service on top of the $100 a month I spend on other streaming services in order to watch my football team. It is bonkers. The model is reaching its breaking point.

As for some paid services, I’ve had great luck when they’re working. Always the risk it just magically disappears though. 

 

I cut the cord on a ton but not everything this summer. I use Kodi with a VPN and a scraper on my firestick. For movies, shows, etc. it works just as well as any other streaming service. I have run into issues in past attempts but for the most part for some of the later game stuff I wanted to watch out of market it was pretty solid.  I got through the recent World Cup with almost zero issues. The feed was great with minimal/no buffering.  It is getting a lot better.

 

I would be curious how a Bills game goes these days, but I don't want to chance it.

I’ve been paying for it for years… I’m more annoyed about the nuisance of 6 different platforms to watch a full season.

While I agree, I do put some blame on the people too. This only really happened due to people cutting the cord for cable. People originally went to streaming to save money. Now depending on how many you have it's costing the same as cable.

Honestly, I tried for over a decade to give them money for Sunday Ticket and they were always like, "no, sorry, it's not available in your area." 

So... illegal streams it was for me.

I don't like it because it's squeezing fans who I guarantee already spend $$on NFL products and are just trying to save a buck

Why yes, that's exactly the point. You aren't giving them every last cent.  This year the Bills are likely going to be on a channel I can watch 13-14 times this year. I'm not spending $300+ just to be able to watch the 3 or 4 games that won't be on local Boston TV.

 

Speaking of being money-grubbing pr*cks, season ticket holders (me) used to get free NFL+ in time to watch the preseason games. This year they waited unto after preseason to offer us a generous 40% off!!
