Cool! Give him a few weeks to learn the system and activate him once he has enough command of things to run the defense.  Hopefully as a vet he's a quick learner and possibly available week 1.

Get him caught up to the scheme as quick as possible and let him compete for the job.

Hallelujah. 

If Dodsen stinks the first few weeks, hopefully Bernard or Kirksey can step in and take over.

I'm not foolish enough to think that Kirksey is a be-all, end-all solution at MLB, but he has certainly proved to be more productive -- and a more capable leader -- over the course of his career than Dodsen has.
