Barkley To IR

He's listed on the 53 man roster as of the Bills' official release just before 6. So I take it he'll be eligible to return this season (unless there's a settlement). Not informed on these details in general or in this particular situation. Just passing on the news I saw.

Makes sense, at his age Bark doesn’t offer much to the field, his best service is off it and he can still do that on IR. 
 

Find a guy who they can develop to take the #2 job over.

looking at the roster on the Bills site just now,

 

Barkley is listed in the Injured Reserve section.

 

Reid Ferguson is not listed.

 

Shorter is included in the 53.

 

Apparently tomorrow they will more Shorter to IR and sign Ferguson.

Yeah this is the 2nd year they’ve asked Reid to take one for the team to pay the roster games.  He’s a good soldier.

 

Im sure Beane calls him into the office.  Beane, “hey Reid, ah..”.  Fergy, “ yeah, yeah, I got it.  Can you at least send me some pizza and wings for this yearly event?”  Sure, Reid.

So I know he can't play for the Bills this year, but is he still allowed to hang around the building, attend practices, watch film, give advice to Josh - i.e. all the stuff an assistant coach does?

Barkley already on IR and not on roster.

And if he really can't play all year, maybe have him work as assistant QB coach!
