Interesting. I don't think that was the original plan, but I could be wrong.  I have a feeling McDermott hopes to end the pre-season on a high note, and build the teams confidence going into week one.

One would think if they zip down the field for a quick TD, that will be it. But, if they recreate last week’s miscues, you have to wonder how long McDermott will leave them in.

Folks that say preseason doesn't matter are sick to find out the coach is punishing the starters by making them play in this one because of how crappy they looked

It feels like had they done well last week that would have been a wrap on the majority of the starters PS. However with the presnap penalties it's good to get them back out there and tune up a bit. Just hope we stay healthy.

Hopefully they run one successful series and then done.  Don't need our starters recovering for week 1 game while our opponents are fresh.

I think this is a good plan despite the injury risks.  Both sides of the ball need to be crisper and show overall readiness for the opener

The only thing I'll say is that if they're going to put Allen out there they have to let him play. If he wants to run let him run. If he gets hit, so be it. What we saw against the Steelers is useless for him to practice. If they're worried about him taking hits then call exclusively quick passes and runs.

Based on reports from yesterday it doesn't sound serious, but if it came down to it we could start Bates or Edwards in his spot and manage just fine.

Hope they stay healthy AND hope they don’t play like they did last week.

Good, not a McD fan but he needs to do something to send a message to this soft team knowing the hornets nest they're walking into on MNF against the Jets so they aren't blown of the field by the end of the 1st quarter again.
