In fact don't be surprised if the Bills and other teams are lining up to claim players they release on cut down day. Would make a lot of sense too for getting valuable intel as well as valuable depth because of how loaded they are at most positions.

I will be shocked if the Bills claim anyone from the Dolphins.

Name one player they would cut and the  Bills would claim, just one

I am more worried about the Jets than the fish. Look at the QB's in the division.

1. Allen - one of the best in the game right now.

2. Rodgers - a future first ballot HOF who may not be in his prime but is a lot better than what they had last year.

3. LOL - not worth mentioning.

4. LOL - see directly above

Jets hype is all in the Rogers basket, if he looks like he did last year they will certainly contend for a WC spot but that's about it. If he's worse or gets hurt they are a 7 win type of team again and they clean house after the season. If he does revert to MVP form obviously they are a legit SB contender.

My biggest concern with the Dolphins is their up and coming (albeit strange) head coach was able to navigate a very difficult situation towards the end of the year and get the them back to the playoffs and they should have won against the Bills if not for being down to their 3rd string QB. Fast forward to this year they have one of the best overall rosters in the league and added one of the best DC's in the NFL. Obviously all hinges on Tua staying healthy but if he does they probably win 13 games minimum.

Also don't sleep on Mac Jones and the Patriots, can still see a scenario where they quietly sneak up on everyone and win the division and make one last SB run in what might be Belichik's farewell tour. Defense is going to be as legit as the Dolphins and Jets and if the offense can get back to what they were a few years ago I think things get real interesting.

Re Pats QBs,  I think Bailey Zappe is a better QB prospect than Mac Jones or at least has a higher ceiling and Mac Jones acts like an entitled punk and is a dirty player.  Tua albeit with his medical issues and small size is a potent weapon if they can protect him which is doubtful.

I don't see anyone in the division winning 13 games. The AFCE and especially the Bills, Dolphins and Jets will beat the hell out of each other. The out of division schedule is tough as well. My guess is the floor/ceiling for the Bills is 10-12 wins. I will say 11-6. Will that win the division who knows. As for the playoff game against the Fins don't forget the Bills were on the verge of blowing them out. The Bills got sloppy with turnovers and that helped Miami get back in the game. To their credit they did.

Well if I worked for the Bills I can tell you I'd be watching their LB group in particular very closely because there is some serious talent there that's not making the final roster and they will try and stash on the PS. Problem is they are legit NFL prototype guys and not undersized tweaner types so we probably won't be interested and let some other lucky team scoop them up...

Where do you all rate the the Dolphins vs. Bills in terms of coaching?

I'm not sold on McDaniel.   Much like rookies who sparkle in their first seasons and then tail off in succeeding seasons, some new HCs never develop into good HCs.

IMO yes because I'm obviously very familiar with Dolphins since they are a division rival. But many experts and pundits also have them as a clear cut top 5 roster, in some cases not even factoring in QB like Chris Simms ranking:

Unfortunately for you and all these "experts and pundits" so in love with the Fish, having a supposed "clear cut top 5 roster" is meaningless.  An elite QB working with a top HC makes up for most talent deficients most of the time.  The Pats and Chiefs have demonstrated this pretty regularly over the last 2 decades.   Tua isn't an elite QB and McDaniel isn't a top HC.

The media just stirs in the offseason because they need ratings and they have nothing to talk about.

The Bills won the division the last 3 years in a row. No discussion necessary until week 10 at the earliest.

The Dols are more likely to pickup Bills' players than vice versa.

Bills have the better QB, O-line, TE's, RB's and Safeties.

D-line (don't forgot Von, Floyd and Groot) and CB is a wash/tie

Fish have better WR's, LB's

Bills Roster > Fish Roster

I agree with this.  How good is the Dolphins D-line that it is better than the Bills' with Von, Floyd, Groot, Oliver, Jones, etc?

Best roster in the league with stars everywhere, added one of the best DC's in the NFL, top 5 QB, rising young offensive mind HC, etc, etc.

Jets similar in some ways but don't believe in Saleh or Rogers magically reverting back to MVP form and just like with the Bills last year, rarely do these hyped up media super teams live up to billing especially come playoff time.

One has to wonder if you have any idea how little credibility you have on this forum? Or is it just blithe trolling?

Before I go into this, I want to defend Simms and Florio for a minute. Unlike the talking heads on ESPN and FS1, they don't spout things just for shock or clicks. If you disagree, I encourage you to actually watch PFT every day instead of piling on because it's cool to hate Florio like it's cool to hate Nickelback.

With that out of the way, Simms and Florio said on PFT this morning that the Dolphins have a top-3 roster in the NFL and are the best team on paper in the AFC East, supplanting the Bills. Simms said a position-by-position analysis, outside of QB, would be a landslide in favor of the Dolphins.

Do you agree? Why or why not? I'll admit that I was slightly puzzled by the comments, because I think I disagree.

QB: Bills

OL: Bills, right?

RB: Tie? I actually like the Bills' room better.

WR: Dolphins? They have elite talent, but I think the Bills have better overall depth.

TE: Bills

DL: Dolphins, but it's close

LB: Dolphins

CB: Dolphins, probably, if Ramsey is behind included, but it's close again

S: Bills?

Specialists: Tie?

Is that a Dolphins landslide? I don't think so.

All's you needed to say was QB, the rest is gravy! We are the top dog to beat in this division.

There is zero point zero chance Miami wins 13 games.
