I don't think its time to panic yet but I wish buffalo had one do over from the draft.

at 150 they took justin shorter and he is probably not going to help this team for awhile meanwhile 19 picks later Dallas took OT Asim Richards and he looks like a player.  He would be the swing tackle here with the way he is performing in the preaseason.

I’m thankful for this post, I can see this is where I can air a complaint. First, if it ends up to where the Bills miss having Edmunds then I’ll be totally disillusioned with football, or better yet, if the Bills can’t find a better replacement. It looks like the same old story with the run defense, if accurate this is going to be a very bumpy season. Secondly this OL doesn’t even come close to looking good. I don’t know if this can even be corrected at this point. I hope Kromer is a magician because I sure don’t see any continuity with this group. Josh is still affected by the lack of proper pass protection. That’s a pretty scary thought before facing a very good and physical DL from the Jets. Thirdly I can see that Josh & Co are in season form with “We’ll learn from this” press conferences. The Bills’ “education” takes longer than a Rhodes Scholar’s. When will our “students” become graduates from these same idiotic blunders?

There, I’m done. Have a good day.

Why am I skeptical of the bold?   😋

I hope this serves as a wake up call and is part of us preparing for a solid season. Sometimes getting punched in the mouth can actually be a good thing. I am most worried about MLB, but OT depth has taken a blow in the last week. Something will be done, and I hope it is enough. I miss Edmunds already, but not to the tune of $18mil/year.

We don't have a RT, Dawkins regressed the last few years, Poyer wanted out of Buffalo but didn't get any other offers. Eric Washington didn't have anything good to say about Oliver but we extended him anyway We peaked with McDermott & Beane, tear it down & try again. It was a good run

No. I’m evaluating starters against starters. And keeping in mind how we looked exactly the same vs cicny

It’s about being shrewd and making tough decisions. Chiefs traded away tyreke hill!

keeping tre white , poyer , Oliver and signing knox are bad business moves IMO. Needed better lines on both sides.

just not good enough guys

You’re basing this on one half of a preseason game. OK. The Cinn. game is last year and we didn’t show up for whatever reason. Give it a chance before making blanket assessments. We will see if the HC can bring the level of play up to what we need. Sometimes you need to get punched in the mouth. Was 13and3 an illusion? These same players beat KC and have won their division 3 years in a row. You haven’t seen Knox or Miller yet and you want to get rid of Tre While just as he’s getting healthy. Can we see these guys in a regular season game please.

This was merely this week's award.  We all know there will be at least a few overreaction threads on the board anytime the Bills lose. 😁

I hope these fans don’t jump off bridges when they have a bad day in their personal life.

It’s like their minds are incapable of seeing any sort of big picture. They don’t understand cycles and flows of things. Just zero wisdom of life, or even football for that matter.

Is anyone else thinking this team was grossly mismanaged by beane ?

The double down on Spencer brown with no depth or drafting (shell signing and retiring is a joke)

just saying yea Dion dawkins is the starter - giving no competition to that fat slug. The wing eating contest at practice thing during playoffs or end of season was a wtf moment. Go back and watch cincy playoff game. Dawkins was worse than spencer

everyone and their mother would have let an aging / battle injured safety just go in FA. But instead we sign him back. Poyer starts getting beat w speed more and more. Every kc game , and Mia game it’s glaring

everyone and their mother would not have extended Ed Oliver . My god he’s a liability on most plays.

The elam first round pick! Enough said. can’t get on the field

the investments both high draft picks and FA signings to the DL with poor return

I agree. After the 2nd preseason game, just sell the team

I have given it a chance. 6 years of this coach. They get punched in the mouth more than they do the punching. They are a finesse passing O and a passive bend but don’t break D. Tre white may be healthy - buts he slow, old and past his prime. We will get to see them in the reg season and it’s not gonna be pretty

1.  The Bills have not been in a position to draft a top end tackle because of the success they've had - most of those guys go in the top of the first round.

True, but there were some opportunities that we unfortunately missed.

Orlando Brown Jr, pro-bowl T, went after we would have picked. We decided to trade down. Ended up with Harrison Phillips instead.

Brian O' Neill, pro-bowl T, went after we would have picked. We decided to trade down. Ended up with Harrison Phillips instead.

Chris Lindstrom, pro-bowl G, went after the Bills picked. We chose Oliver instead.

Creed Humphrey, best C in the league, went after the Bills picked. We chose Rousseou instead.

There is also free agency over the past couple of years, where good to very good T's were available. For example, Joe Thuney was available. And La'ell Collins was available. And Terron Armstead was available. And Duane Brown was available. And Jason Peters was available. All of these players singed with new teams, and some do have issues (for example, Terron is a walking injury), but they were available.

But you can't blame a GM for not being Nostradamus when you go out and get a veteran who's started in the league as competition, and he decides to retire.

Not sure how Shell retiring is relevant. I don't think anyone, Beane included, was expecting Brandon Shell to start at RT. Beane signed him in the Summer, on a cheap deal, for only 1 year, and he was battling with Quessenberry to not be the 3rd string RT.

We can absolutely blame Beane for not adequately addressing the Tackle position. You don't have to be Nostradmus to know that signing an old vet who was fighting to not be the 3rd string RT before is not exactly fixing the position.

4.  Without Oliver you would have had 1 DT under contract next year.  One.  Oliver will also be fine, everyone was expecting the second coming of Donald.

I know it's just a few series of one pre-season game, but I just do not see what others (and apparently Beane) see in Oliver. When he is not battling an injury, he is remarkably mediocre. He will flash for a play or two, and then get tossed around like a rag doll for half a dozen plays. I simply do not understand why we re-signed him.

Steelers had a LT, LG, RG and a WR vs AJ Epenesa, Tyrel Dodson, and Matt Milano. Dane Jackson was 10 yards off the ball and retreated even more after the snap. Poona Ford and Tim Settle fall down. Poyer didn’t want to tackle.

The Bills probably never call that defense in the regular season.

So also the right tackle of the Steelers fell on top of both groot and settle which made poona also go down serious push in the back that took out 3 bills no call.  This game was all about Tomlin getting packback over Clappy for the ass betting we gave them last year.  Pitts d was not vanilla and using blitz and stunts to put pressure on.

Oliver was the worst of them I'm ok with keeping white and knox for sure. But letting Edmunds go in favor of little  Ed Oliver is a deal breaker for me

Yup. I just have to accept like the fanboys on here that there was no one else / we don’t have anyone on the roster !

NO effffing Shite!!!!! Beane has to replenish the roster over 1-3 years . It’s his fault he felt pigeon holed having to sign the MoST mediocre DT in Ed

I have a feeling that by the end of this season, the Bills will have wished they spent the Ed Oliver money on Mike McGlinchey. For $19M more (over 5 years), we could have had a very good Tackle.

I too blame Beane for this second preseason loss in the last five seasons.

I also blame him for having a third string QB who threw 3 picks in in an exhibition game.

Tell me again the trophy you earn for being the “best” run team? Oh that’s right. No one cares. Super Bowl or bust

Based on your posts, their are 31 teams every year that are "grossly mismanaged" because they didn't win the superbowl?  Brilliant logic.
