AuntieEm Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 You want to give them the game off but have they earned it? I'm not sure I want Allen out there or any of our starters yet if they are really this ill prepared then seems they need the work more than more time off. Quote
Brand J Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Give them a drive or two to atone for what happened tonight. I don’t like going into the Jets game with that sort of sloppiness the last time they took the field. 1 11 Quote
K-9 Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Not if I were the coach because they’d be too physically exhausted from all the gassers I’d make them run all week. 2 1 3 1 Quote

Yes I hate how bad they looked but if any important starter gets hurt for a ps game that means zilch. And practicing them until they are beaten and tired won't exactly give them a leg up on the Jets week 1. I don't think the Jets can hang with a Josh led offense if he is on. Does Josh need the game reps to be at his best for the Jets opener. Quote

I'm even tempted to put Josh out there for a series or two to see if he can build any kind of trust in the (admittedly barely existent) O-Line. There were a couple of times tonight where he took off when he didn't need to. Then again, if he gets injured, we'd be calling out the utter futility of doing that. Quote
Brand J Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 I know the injury concerns, but it’s football. Can happen at any time, even in practice. Playing less minimizes that risk, true, but you get what you get on the field if that’s the approach… and then the injury risk can climb once again through fatigue when they are on the field. Quote
NoHuddleKelly12 Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 This may sound way too old school, but the only way to get better at something like O timing/chemistry is to work at it on the field, and clearly just practice isn’t cutting it, so…I’d say play ‘em a series or 2 with some urgency to punch it in for a tuddy 🤷🏼♂️? 1 1 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 I’d say if they have a good week of practice, then no. If they struggle, then yes Quote
Big Blitz Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Well they didn’t play this week so.. 3 1 Quote
Boatdrinks Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Nope. The team stunk tonight, but they’ll be going against backups anyway and it proves nothing. Just not worth the risk. 1 Quote
Warcodered Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Not much point, it's not likely they'd be against starters on the other side. 1 Quote
wppete Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 No point. Keep them healthy and let the bottom of the roster fight it out for the remaining spots. Quote

Einstein Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Play them the entire game. The injury stuff is overblown. They can get injured in practice, in the weight room, etc. Gabe Davis’ season long ankle injury came during the WALKTHROUGH before the Titans game last year. We saw a team tonight that needs as many reps against real competitor as they can possibly get. 1 1 1 1 Quote

Super sloppy tonight and nowhere near ready for the Jets. Quote

gordong Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 (edited) O-line plays the entire game … they need all the work they can get…. And Dion needs more self control in the kitchen area. Edited August 20, 2023 by gordong Quote
Freddie's Dead Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 No. We'll have to live with the ***** show that will be the Jests game. Quote
