Scott7975 Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Rest in peace. I will always remember all the games I have listened to you. You were one of the best all time. Quote
BMWR100RT Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 I've been trying to put this into perspective. It hit me Saturday that no other person (athlete/announcer/owner, etc.) in sports has given me more entertainment in my life. Not even a close second. In the back of my mind there was always this magic fantasy moment where I'd see Rick out and send him over a beer with the waitress and on his way out he'd give me a nod and I'd get to thank him in person. RIP Rick and thank you. 1 1 Quote
billsintaiwan Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 So much better than Mike Robitaille. Ha Bills aside, have never had more of an emotional breakdown than when the Nordiques came back from 5-2. Foligno scored the tying goal and it was called back on a bogus offside whistle. I was nine, so maybe memory skewed, but Ric seiling taking on Dale hunter was something. Jimmy Mann trying to bait Lindy ruff into a fight. Bergeuron chewing his cud. We almost never listened to the TV feed. Wanted to kill Scotty Bowman. Ha Quote
BillsFanNC Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Apologies if already posted. I've been searching for one of the old channel 2 Ed and the boys episodes for years, and now we have one after RJs passing. RJ, Ted Darling, Jim Kelley.....and Robitaille chain smoking lung darts. Classic! 2 3 Quote
