ColoradoBills Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 My Dad and I were so amazed when we went to our first game there that season. It was so "modern" and just crazy nice compared to the "rockpile". Quote
Gugny Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 (edited) This could be a fun game! Play along!! How old were you when the first game was played? What was you best friend’s name in high school? What was your first pet’s name? What is your mother’s maiden name? BONUS: What are the last 4 digits of your social security number? Post your answers here so we can have some off-season fun!!! notwoz Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 My friend Wally called to say he had tickets, so we went to the stadium. Traffic was so screwed up that we missed the first quarter and then some. But still it was the first game. And somewhere I have the commemorative medallion. 1 Quote
oldmanfan Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 I was 4 when Dad took my brother and me to the home opener at the Rockpile in 1960. My parents bought 3 season tickets for Rich Stadium for the opening season. Mom and my brother picked me up from work at Sheridan and Egbert at 3:30 for the 7:00 PM first ever game, a preseason game against the Redskins. We got into our seats 5 minutes before kickoff. Just in time to see Herb Mul-Key return the opening kickoff for a TD. Figured out very quickly to never take the Youngman to 90 ever again; went straight down Bailey to Abbott from then on. 1 Quote

During the drought years I used to get so screwed up in the parking lot I would normally miss the first quarter and then some every game. 2 Quote

dwight in philly Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Myself and 4 friends all invested in season tickets.. We got there in time to see Herb Mul- Key , receive the first kickoff ever at the Stadium and run it back toward us in the tunnel end zone for a TD.. Quote
Fleezoid Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Stadium's in the NFL are like Logans Run. Except 50 is the new 30. Highmark is going to "Carousel". Quote

I was just outside the gate trying to get in and heard the roar of the crowd before kickoff building, and building, the excitement was palpable, and then……….we all knew something had gone very, very wrong. Yeah, welcome to the new stadium. 1 Quote

DJB Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 I hope we can win one before we move to the new Stadium Quote

I am so happy though with what this team has become since McBeane took over. We have purpose. No one, not even the Cheats wins every year back in the Brady days. I know we’ll get there. 1 Quote
