I thought it was interesting that been Denmark was the first guy off the bench and not Tommy Doyle

Maybe the bills have found somebody a diamond in the rough

Did you see Denmark get torched on one of the sacks in Saturday's game? The guy ran right around him like he was fence post or Spencer Brown.

How long was it torn for ?

And of course it effects everybody differently..  Thurmanator played without an ACL his entire career

But that has to be unique..  you're lucky you didn't do more damage if that's possible

Over a year.  I suspect my meniscus got torn the first time my knee gave out afterwards.

May not be head trainer's issue.

Some injures cannot be diagnosed without a MRI and sometimes insurance companies or whomever is in charge of paying the bills for equipment is mi$nydery.

I had an ankle injury which never healed and went to 8 different doctors with 8 different diagnoses.  It got to point I needed to use hand control to drive car. The eighth doctor said it could be due to plantars causing too much strain on ankle and put me in a cast to soften it.  Within days I was basically crippled and he said that should not happen and got an MRI approved.  Test showed a cyst size of a golf ball surrounding ankle bones, tendons and everything else in error.  I specialist needed to be called in and cyst was removed.  I was told I would be out for at least 6 weeks,  My company did not want slot unbillable so convinced government agency to change my job requirements and then let me go for "lack of work".

I feel your pain! I have had my ACL replaced 3 times on the same knee. The second time was a work related injury, and they had me try physical therapy for 6 months before an MRI could be approved.

There are pretty basic ways to get a good idea that an ACL is completely torn. Such as, having you sit with your bad knee bent and your foot on the table. They then grab your leg just below the knee and pull it out to feel if that ligament is there, giving resistance. Our head trainer said it felt fine doing this, but then one of the student trainers tried and he said it felt like a torn ACL to him.

(The doctors do this after the surgery and PT to make sure the new ACL is doing it’s job)

the student trainer was correct, our head trainer was not.

That’s why they do MRI’s.

True, but it sucked when our head trainer told my position coach and our d-coordinator that it was just a contusion, and that I could practice whenever I felt I could handle the pain. I would get asked daily if I was going to “actually” practice, as if I was not tough enough to deal with a knee bruise.

and I only got sent to get an MRI because I was persistent in demanding one.

but yes, you are correct on why they do MRI’s… and that’s why I wanted one. But I think that point was obvious🤔

Is this going to degenerate into a Spleen removal thread…?

Quote

Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Tommy Doyle was carted off the field during the team’s preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a potentially major injury.

Doyle went down in the third quarter after going down while in pass protection. Doyle, who suffered an ACL injury last year, had his left knee bent awkwardly as he went down to the turf. He was taken off the field by medical staff.

A real shame a player I had been rooting for.
