In college, I was held out a couple of weeks because of a diagnosed knee contusion that never seemed to get better. They finally sent me in for an MRI, and it was a completely torn ACL... the sad thing is that our head trainer who made the initial prognosis used to be a trainer for Bills.

Same here. Lol

I had multiple concussions that ended my career but I can't believe a trainer missed a torn ACL

Could you even run

Yes. Everything felt squishy when I walked. Slight pain behind my knee because I had a torn lateral meniscus too. Lol

Straight ahead, yes at about 80% speed, but the moment I would try to turn, it felt like an electric fire poker stabbing my knee

ACL tears usually only affect lateral stability and some can function even there better than others.  I didn’t realize I tore mine for over a year because it stopped hurting pretty quickly and I could function fine. The third time my knee gave out after a sudden side movement I got it checked and found out.  Ortho knew it instantly when he manipulated my knee.

How long was it torn for ?

And of course it effects everybody differently..  Thurmanator played without an ACL his entire career

But that has to be unique..  you're lucky you didn't do more damage if that's possible

What are we gonna do with Doyle, Van Demark, and my sweet prince Gouraige? How many tackles did we keep last year? 4?

I guess that depends upon how you count.  We had Dawkins, Brown, Quessenberry, Doyle, and Bobby Hart on the roster last season but that lasted for like, 2 whole games.  At Miami, Hart had been suspended and Doyle tore his ACL so I guess, 4 through most of the season?

Not coming at you, but I thought I saw in GameDay thread a lot of ppl saying he looked bad and hobbled and very stiff out there. Am I mixing him up with the other late round T, Nick something?

The discussion I've heard was around Ike Boettger who, sadly, does not look good.

May not be head trainer's issue.

Some injures cannot be diagnosed without a MRI and sometimes insurance companies or whomever is in charge of paying the bills for equipment is mi$nydery.

I had an ankle injury which never healed and went to 8 different doctors with 8 different diagnoses.  It got to point I needed to use hand control to drive car. The eighth doctor said it could be due to plantars causing too much strain on ankle and put me in a cast to soften it.  Within days I was basically crippled and he said that should not happen and got an MRI approved.  Test showed a cyst size of a golf ball surrounding ankle bones, tendons and everything else in error.  I specialist needed to be called in and cyst was removed.  I was told I would be out for at least 6 weeks,  My company did not want slot unbillable so convinced government agency to change my job requirements and then let me go for "lack of work".

That’s why they do MRI’s.
