They put Shakir in last year and he only had 31 total in college so I wouldn't completely rule it out if Isabella doesn't muff any in the games or practice.

That could be true

I honestly just get nervous about returners with limited experience... Especially at the NFL level

It's a very natural skill set..  not learned...  Being a dominant return Man usually translates through all the levels

And yeah shakir back there would make me nervous also

I think if Shakir is put on practice squad some team will sign him to their 53 even if he is inactive.

Staff will believe they can correct problems and he has been shown he has potential.

Shakir needs to put in extra time outside facility.

Eric Moulds needs to get access to game tape and help Shakir correct his problems.

I can help him as much as Moulds can.  Catch the goddamn ball.

Who said he didn't have it to begin with?  The only reason he only had 32 total in college is they wanted him to focus solely on receiver after his rookie year.

But natural return men like DeSean Jackson ... Took six back to the house in the pac-12... Mcelvin had eight

He has zero...  At UMass... Sure he might have some talent but I don't think he's a pure returner

Sure he might surprise us... I just think he's a backup returner... Not the guy

The only way you can help him is by giving him an enema..

Is it too late to get a refund on Harty?

I hope to be very wrong. Harty seems like he will be a waste of cap space.

Yeah he signed a 2 year $13.5M deal and for that amount of money you’d hope he would look miles better than bottom of the roster Andy Isabella. Nothing I’ve heard out of camp suggests he’s worth that sort of coin, especially when we could’ve got a legitimate (former all pro) starting MLB for close to the same. That’s not to say Harty won’t make plays this season - as long as he doesn’t get hurt - but that money definitely could’ve and probably should’ve been allocated elsewhere.

Cook looked good. Shakir looked nice until the bad drop.

Anybody else look like they could make the leap to stardom this year?

Given the competition, both Cook and Kincaid have to be star-quality players this year AND the team has to avoid major injuries AND Spencer Brown has to raise is play to at least mediocre. If all else remains the same (not counting trauma), I don't see why they can't go all the way, even with weak play at MLB.

I think Oliver, Rousseau, and AJ will look like stars again once Miller is back.

The interesting thing to note is how Groot and ed have been consistent in camp and AJ has looked good.

I barely noticed AJ yesterday but the other two showed up.

I don't think AJ ever looked like a star last year but was a serviceable rotation guy.  That gives him a leg up on basham even though he had a good day yesterday... Against a weaker line mind you.

I think Groot will establish himself as a potential elite de. Definitely see a 10+ sack season and just his overall play, he'll be looked at as 1 of the better young des in the gm. Even with Von out , he has Floyd on the other side, should get lot of 1v1 opportunities

I am quite surprised that our rookie TE Kincaids' name isn't  getting more play in this thread. He having a breakout season means POINTS I'm all for it.

Potentially Cook and Davis. Apparently Davis has looked amazing all camp. Of he can stay injury fre he could be in for a big year...contract year so wouldn't be a surprise.

Doubtful they use any gadget plays during the preseason. If he has value we will see it down the stretch.
