I very rarely wish ill on people, but I confess that I rooted for Manziel to fail in the NFL.  The stories of Johnny's partying, laziness, greed, and so forth made me dislike the guy.  There are so many good kids doing things right who deserve success.  I wanted them to succeed instead of him.

Now I only wish him well.  I hope he gets the help he needs and has the strength to follow a healthier, happier path.

I didn't watch it, but read that when he was diagnosed with Bipolar, he didn't accept it and went into a spiral. As one who also has Bipolar, unless you find the right partner/therapy/medication, it is nothing to play around with. I was standing on the deck of the Golden Gate Bridge, ready to jump. My therapist at the time played around with my medication. Thankfully I walked off and went to the Psych ER instead, got my meds straightened out, and reconnected with my now wife 4 months later.

Great to hear you’re still with us!

Same here. Though I liked his bravado, and him doing the money sign when drafted ha ha. But, when you do all that, you've got to deliver - and that includes preparation. Crazy that a NFL QB can watch zero film! I mean, I understand doing it half-ass or not putting your all into it, but not doing it at all?? How can that even be possible?

Highly recommend watching. Very entertaining.  Such a wild ride , deep insights.  After getting cut by Cle, he tried taking his life even.

Yeah really enjoyed it.  I love the "UNTOLD" series in general.  For those who don't know, its an excellent series are based on sports similar to like the 30for30 series by ESPN.  Each one though is a individual mini-doc, so when you click on one it doesn't show it as in there are other episodes.  So just search for UNTOLD on netflix to try and find the others.

Jake Paul one came out just before Manziels did too and that was interesting watch.  My favorites were the two part one on Manti Teo and then the one on the minor league hockey team owned by the mafia (which is probably my favorite).  But its a fantastic series and I think there are probably at least 10 now

Yeah I think a lot of people are not understanding to just how serious it can be.  Just a few days before the Manziel doc came out, a young neighbor of mine committed suicide who was in his early 20's.  He had just been diagnosed in the previous weeks as bi-polar and the week leading up to it his roommates said he was acting really unusual and referenced hearing voices a lot.  Poor kid used zip ties to suffocate himself.

Im happy to hear that you have found effective ways now to manage it and congrats on finding your wife after coming out of a dark place, that sounds like divine intervention.  My wifes Aunt battles it herself, but I have never seen an episode because she has not had any episodes in the time I have known my wife thanks to a good medication regimen.  But she told me there were episodes where she was high up somewhere convinced she could fly and had to be carefully talked down in those moments, but those were also moments where she wasn't taking medication and a long time ago.

When I was standing on the deck of the Golden Gate Bridge, I had been talking to a close friend. I decided after going to work that morning I was going to end my life and messaged her to tell her, so she could watch after my daughter. We were in constant contact all day. When she didn't hear from me after a while, she called me. I just so happened to be standing on the bridge. She simply said, "Just go to the psych ER one more time. If it doesn't work, you have my permission to kill yourself". That sounded reasonable to me, and that's what got me into the ER. So yes. It was divine intervention.

It was great.

It should let people know you can’t exclusively Youtube scout and complain if we don’t draft the player you wanted.

or complain they do draft that player ( see Josh Allen )

As soon as I saw him walk on the draft stage doing the "money, money" thing with his hands, I knew he was a jerkoff. Like other posters on here said, he seemed to think it was all gonna come easy for him with no work. Whoops!

I thought the documentary was good. Definitely changed my initial impression of him a bit. Unfortunately, this will forever be the image in my head when I hear his name.

Well everyone in your life will be eternally grateful for that friend being there at the time you needed it the most.  Congrats on coming through that and building a wonderful life.

My wife and kids all suffer from some form of mental illness.  Keep up the good fight Draconator and JerseyBills.

I agree. based on the what they showed it still looks like he is living his life with his boys.

Yeah, I was waiting for some sort of closure or at least some feeling as to what he is doing but it ended abruptly.
